Part 7: Long Road Ahead

Alicia POV:

Where is she?

Shall i go looking for her?

Its already going dark!

She said she'd be back?

I was sat on the front porch of our safe house waiting for Elyza to return from the supply run. I bounce my knee nervously and tap my finger on my leg as i wait for her arrival. I've been waiting for over an hour, its now on the edge of being pitch black.

Then suddenly I see some headlights, headlights of a truck. Elyza didn't go out in a truck! That realisation made my adrenaline levels rise dramatically! As the truck approaches the front of the safe house! I run to meet the intruders with my gun pointed at eye level with the safe off. I was ready to fight. Just as the driver gets out the door, I shout:

"Who are you and why are you on my property? You better explain yourself before I put two fucking bullets through your skull!"

"My name is Octavia, are you Alicia?" She said with confidence

"How do you know my name?" I replied completely taken back

"Elyza! She sent me here because she saved us at the old town and she said that we could stay here until my friends Lindsey gets better! Lindsey was captured and injured by a group of men and I saved her but we got over run! Elyza told me to tell you that I was here friend and no threat of which we aren't"

My stomach dropped at the sound of her name! "Where? Where is she?"

Panic spread across Octavia's face, "She had to stop and fix her tyre, but she told me to carry on because Lindsey's condition is deteriorating"

At hearing that Elyza sent Octavia and Lindsay to get help, she knew to let her guard down because Elyza has a good judge of character!

"Okay, okay... Was Elyza alive last time you saw her?" I said firmly

"Yes, very much so, she was shouting at me to leave her and find you"

I lower my gun and walk towards Octavia and extend my hand for her to shake. She immediately takes it and leads to me where Lindsay is lying in he truck. When she opens the door to the back of the beaten up pick up truck, I see a girl lying on her back with bandages around her leg!

Octavia speaks first "Ven, this is Alicia she's a friends of Elyza, she gonna take us in" .

Lindsay lifts up her head to look at me, smiles and sticks her thumbs up weakly.

"She looks really weak, we need to get her inside and on a drip" I said with my mind in action mode.

Octavia turns to Lindsay with loving eyes and says "Come on bitch, time to move" grabbing her hands and lowering her into my arms, once she's firmly in my arms, i carry her into the safe house, with Octavia closely behind once locking her truck up. 

I walk straight up the stairs and headed towards the medical room, i placed her down on the bed and attended to her injuries. I placed a Intravenous line into her arm, 

"This will replace the nutrients due to the blood loss" I inform Octavia on what i am doing. 

Then i move to her leg from what i can asses from what Elyza has done, she tourniqueted the wound to stop the bleeding and as there are no fresh blood stains on the bandage i reckon the bleeding will have stopped. I looked over at Lindsey and saw that she had passed out from exhaustion, so i wouldn't have to worry about the pain. I slowly took the bandage off to reveal a laceration on the girls leg, the bleed had ceased but i needed to clean the wound to prevent infection.
