"WE'RE GOING TO FRANCE WE'RE GOING TO FRANCE WE'RE GOING TO FRANCE FREAKING HELL WE'RE GOING TO FRANCE WE'RE GOING TO FRANCE"
"Abbie, calm down! What if we get thrown off the plane and we won't go to France!"
That shut Abbie up. For about 20 seconds.
"Did I tell you how much I love you, Alina? Like, you're the best person ever, right? This is like the best Christmas present EVER WE'RE GOING TO FRAAAANCE! "
Alina laughed and hugged her friend (which was a bit uncomfortable, seeing as they were already sitting in the airplane seats.
Abbie and Alina had been Internet friends for years. When they both graduated, they moved to England together and started sharing a flat.
It was Christmas, and Alina was extremely happy with the gift she had gotten her friend. Although, Abbie seemed even more happy with this present.
"FRAAAAANCE, FREAKING FRAAAANCE!!"
This continued through the whole flight, and although it was quite annoying, Alina was secretly pleased she had made her friend so happy.
After they arrived and checked in the hotel, they immediately went on a walking tour of Paris. Of course, they just had to reenact scenes from Les Mis at any time and place possible.
"WILL YOU JOIN IN OUR CRUSADE?
WHO WILL BE STRONG AND STAND WITH ME?" Abbie shouted from the top of some statue in the square she had somehow managed to climb up on to.
"THEN JOIN IN THE FIGHT
THAT WILL GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO BE FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
With those words, the younger girl jumped down and as she reached the ground, she kind of toppled over and fell. Her friend rushed to her immedeatly, worry written all over her face, but when the clumsy girl started laughing, Alina couldn't help but burst out laughing herself.
After standing in line for what seemed like forever to go up to the top of the Eiffel tower, the girls started slowly walking up the stairs (because "stairs are for pussies", as Abbie said). Throughout the whole way up Abbie quoted Les Mis songs (though that happened all the time, but it was different now, special even).
"I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
But so am I
A little french fry
Will never cry
And you know why?
'CAUSE I'M IN FRAAAAAAAAAAANCE"
The view from the top was absolutely amazing. It was getting dark as they reached the top, and the city started to burst into tiny lights from the windows of buildings.
"Alinaaaaa, you're the friend who has brought me here!
Thanks to you I am one with the gods and heaven is near!
And I soar through a world that is new that is freeeeeeeeeeeeeee..."
The girls spent about an hour up there, taking pictures, filming vlogs, chatting and just soaking in the beauty of Paris.
They then went for a late evening walk through the markets of Paris. Everything seems so beautiful in other countries: the crowd of people shuffling through the stalls, little trinkets that shine in the lamp lights, dream catchers swaying slightly in the breeze.
After they had had enough browisng, the two friends decided to have some dinner. Of course, Alina had planned this all out already, so they headed directly to the restaurant.
After ordering a salad each, a huge portion of French fries and some wine, Abbie decided to say a small toast...
" Drink with me
To days gone by
Sing with me
The songs we knew"
Of course Alina responded, lifting her glass of wine:
"Here's to pretty girls
Who went to our heads"
"Here's to witty girls
Who went to our beds"
And then they chorused, smiling widely:
"HERE'S TO THEM
AND HERE'S TO YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU"
Abbie and Alina spent the rest of the evening walking around the centre of France, and when they finally got back to their hotel, they were completely and utterly exhausted.
For the millionth time that day, Abbie tackled her friend into a bear hug and thanked her.
"THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU You are the best friend EVER!!"
"Ahahaha, Merry Christmas, Abbie."
"Merry Christmas to you too."
