You were sitting on the couch catching up on your favorite t.v. show. Grayson had left early in the morning since he had gotten a call from Ethan saying that he had a big family emergency and needed to have a talk with everyone.

You were kinda worried but thought it was something small so you kinda ignored it and went on with your day. You weren't completely ignorant though, you texted him everyone in a while to see how he was and what was going but most of the time he would jut answer with a ' were good, ill be home in a bit dont worry.' or something along those lines.

Finally you heard the front door unlock, the door open, the door close and get locked again and you could tell that Grayson was taking off his jacket and shoes. You stood up and walked to receive him. He looked as if he'd been crying which made you nervous.

' Hey babe. What's going on? How did it go? ' you asked taking his jacket from him and hanging it up on the hanger. You turned back to face him and he grabbed your hands and walked back to where you were originally sitting before he got home.

' Everything's fine actually. It's just.. my dad recently got diagnosed with cancer, I mean, I dont know.. ' he said quietly. You then felt a lump in your throat. His face turned pale and he looked away from you.

' Im so sorry, Gray. ' you said hugging him. You literally felt really horrible about this. He wrapped his arms around you tightly and didn't let you go for a while. You understood him though, sometimes a hug just fixes things or makes people feel better.

After a minute or two, he let go of you with glassy eyes. He leaned his head on your chest as you began to rub his back like he did to you when you were upset.

' Everything will be alright, baby. Things always happen for a reason. And I know, it sucks. I know. But I promise you were gonna get through this together okay? ' you said trying to comfort him as best as you could when in reality you were at crying point too. He nodded and you played with his hair. You thought of what you could do to make him feel better at this moment but in reality he was just so heartbroken that you thought nothing would help at this moment. ' I want you to know, babe, that I'll be here whenever, okay? Things get better, but it always hurts at first. I promise you that eventually he'll fight this battle and he'll be good and healthy again. It might be a couple months, a year, a couple years. God knows. But I can promise you, it'll be okay. Your being really strong with all this hate you and Eth have been getting and its okay to feel like this sometimes especially when its something like this. You just gotta keep your head up and be a soldier, alright? ' you said smiling at him once he was sat up and looking at you. He nodded and gave a little smile.

' Your soldier to be exact. ' he said with a slight laugh. You smiled and wiped his tears away as he wrapped his arms around you. You pecked all over his jaw playing around and then finally kissed him. He smiled.

' Thanks, y/n. God knows what I'd do without you. I love you to death, princess. ' he said kissing back.
