After visiting Alex, I went to the park and sat on the bench that looked out to a pond.

I sat there for a while and checked my whatch. It read 18:15. I sighed and looked around but Oliver was nowhere to be seen so I turned to gaze back at the pond.

I smiled, seeing the ducks swim and I lost focus for a bit. I was so in thought that I jumped off the bench when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

'Woah, didn't mean to scare you.' Oliver smiled and offered me his hand and I took it, letting him help me up. 'I apologize for being late, I had a bit of trouble finding this place.' He said when I was up and facing him.

'Don't worry about it. It's completely understandable.' I said and sat down on the bench again, with him following my lead. We sat there for a minute before I realized I didn't know why he wanted to meet me. 'Why did you want to meet up so badly?'

'Because I want to get to know you better.' He said with a flirtatious tone, putting an arm around me but I moved away and he removed the look on his face. 'Do you have something going on with the blind guy?' He asked, removing his arm as well.

'Okay, first of all. His name is Alex and no I don't.' I said, a little angry at Oliver.

'But you like him, don't you?' He asked looking down at his hands.
'Yeah, I'm sorry.' I said, feeling bad for hurting his feelings.

'It's fine.' He said and got up. 'I understand completely. Good luck with that.' He said and walked away, leaving me there alone.

I stared after him in shock for a while and then decided to go home.

I was about to turn into the sidewalk of my house but then I thought I'd go to Alex again. I need to talk to him, I thought.

I walked past my house in the direction of his house and got my phone out to tell Judy I'll be home late.

Alex's POV.

I was listening to music on my radio when I heard my mom calling me downstairs. I sighed, stood up, got my cane and headed downstairs.

'Honey, Liz is here.' I heard my mom say and I thanked her. Then I heard her walk out of the room.

'What are you doing here?' I asked her once I was certain my mom was out of the room. She never did this before.

'I wanted to talk to you.' She said and I could here something was bothering her.

'Okay, we can go to my room.' I said, curious to what was bothering her. I heard her begin to climb the stairs and I followed. My senses were getting sharper by the day and honestly I started to feel like a superhero.

'Can you close the door please?' She asked as I entered the room and I closed the door behind me.

'What's up?' I asked her as I sat down on my bed next to her.

'You were right about Oliver wanting to be more than friends.' She said and my heart fuelled with fire and it was hard to keep my cool. 'But I told him I'm not interested and he left me alone in the park.' She added.

My anger died down and I pulled her in for a hug. 'Thank you for listening to me. And you'll find someone someday.' I said to cheer her up, secretly wishing it could be me.

'Can I tell you something personal?' She asked and I pulled her closer so she was sitting on my lap.

'Of course.' I said, concerned about what she was about to tell me.

'I never kissed someone before.' She said almost inaudible, but I was able to hear her just fine. I was shocked at first, but in a way I was glad because I had the chance to be her first.
