Phil's POV:
The stars look so beautiful and we aren't even at the "best spot" yet. I couldn't pry my eyes off the small yellow dots on the ink black sky as Dan continued to drag me along.
"Come on Phil, leave the best parts for when we get there, you don't want to underwhelm it." Dan lectured at a sudden turn. I nodded and decided to look around at my new surroundings.
It's the playground.
"I've been here before! Cat took me here just the other day! Are we watching from the swings?" I said eagerly remembering the fun day with Cat on the swings talking and laughing. I felt Dan tense for a second then stop and turn around.
"Did she take you to the swings...?" He blatantly asked. I nodded with my jaw ajar. The minimal lights made Dan's face look like a porcelain doll, beautiful.
"Then no." He said turning around and dragging me more. I gave out a breathy laugh.
I looked down at our hands, we both are quite pale but Dan's is more tan. I admired the small contrast of tan with black nail polish intertwining with ivory and nothingness. I've always wanted to paint my nails but I've always been scared to. Maybe I'll ask Dan to soon, something subtle like light pink would be nice. It could pass as no paint but I will know it's there.
I looked up at the back of Dan's head and looked at his earrings. They're also plain black but they looked so nice. I wonder how I'd look with piercings? They're not really me but I still wonder... maybe someday when I'm older. THEN I COULD BUY CUTE FLOWER EARRINGS!!!
Maybe even me and Dan can match! Bestfriends match right?
Dan suddenly stopped in front of a forest and turned around.
"I don't want to ruin the suprise so you need to trust me and close your eyes until we get there okay?" He told me with a sincere look on his face.
"But what if I fall?"
"I'll catch you"
I nodded and closed my eyes.
A few seconds went by and I started to feel warmth radiate on my face a little. As quickly as I noticed it, it went away and was replaced with a hand over my eyes.
"Just so I know you're not peeking." Dan laughed from behind me. I giggled and relaxed. I trust him.
We walked what felt like miles before he suddenly stopped without telling me, causing me to almost fall.
"Right, so I'm about to show you the most beautiful thing you'll ever see in your life!!" He said excitedly. I giggled and bit my lip. He sounds extremely happy to be showing me this, it must be THAT amazing. He took his hands away and I opened my eyes to see an blossoming of tiny speckles and shades of purple slowly disappearing on the horizon.
My jaw dropped as I turned around to look at it all. There's so much to take in I don't think I actually can. The stars are so beautiful, they shine bright against the darkest sky you've ever seen.
Beautiful.
Dan POV:
Everything in this moment is beautiful. The stars look like shining pieces of glitter against a black canvas. They're all placed so beautiful it's almost as if the gods themselves crafted the masterpiece down to the last speck. It was like an ocean of light cascading onto dark sands of emptiness. It shows that even at the darkest times, there's always a light shining telling you that it's not dark anymore. Like people.
I looked over at Phil and saw his eyes glowing like the sun. I glanced down at my dull and dark colors of my sweater and sighed.
Why does someone so dull like me have a friend as bright as him?
