I rose at 6 am and took the time to breath in the reality of what was about to happen. I may never see my family again, but I could finally fulfil my life dream of becoming the grand champion of the arena. I packed anything last things I'd left behind, put on my clothes, travelling coat and equipped my dagger and went out to the well to meet Joe at 6:30. We were both there right on time and walked hand in hand to the gate, saying goodbye to every little thing as we passed it.
It was almost half 7 when we reached the stables. I found my horse and climbed onto it with ease, Joe didn't have one of his own so he joined me in mine. And so came the beginning of an amazing adventure between two best friends.
At the very beginning of our journey, we passed the home to a very wealthy man and a sweet little farm. Further down we passed through a crumbling ruin called Fort Ash, it was quite beautiful really. The way the moss intertwined in the stones, and how whenever there was a gust of wind you would hear the walls creak of old age. However, further down we came across a bandit bowman; we tried to reason with him but he just wouldn't listen, so we had to kill him. I'd only ever killed creatures before that, but I guess I'm going to have to get used to killing people once I join the arena.
We were both still a little shaken up after killing that bandit so we sidetracked to a little ruin where we ate our lunch, and we only had to fight through a couple of wolves to get to this little balcony where you could see the white gold tower.
It was merely 1pm when we set off again, and yet a mist was hanging over us already, and before we got to our next checkpoint we met an imperial officer who told us about a thief called the Gray Fox, we didn't have to worry about him though as he only stole from rich folk. By the time we got to Weye, I thought I might actually explode of excitement; however, when I expressed my concerns to Joe he merely chuckled and reminded me to stop at the stables first. Speaking of the stables, they were absolutely wonderful! They had every type of horse you could imagine.
