Prince Ryker

Chapter 8

Ryker's arm was linked through mine as we walked through the towering wooden castle doors. The building was even larger now than it had looked on the drive. Walking into the entryway my mouth dropped open. Two massive winding staircases framed the room, meeting at the ext floor to create a marble balcony. A chandler gleaming with thousands of crystals hung from the ceiling casting shades of rainbow light all around us. 

Women in a simple navy dress walked up to us, bowing as she aproaced. "Welcome back your Highness is there anything I can assist you or your guest with?" She asked once Ryker had nodded for her to stand. "Thank you, but not at this time." With that, she was dismissed, turning she made her way down an adjacent hall. 

"Come, let me show you to your rooms. I'm sure you will want to get cleaned up and rest." Ryker said leading me up to the second floor. We walked to the end of the hall where a large golden elevator waited. "This is a private elevator, it leads to the Royal family's floor. Only the family, select guests as well as specially vetted staff may enter. I will have your handprint programmed into it later today." Ryker said as he placed his hand on a screen beside the door. 

With a beep, the doors opened revealing a marble floor with mirrors all around the interior. Stepping inside the doors closed, but required Ryker's handprint once more before it began to move. After a few moments, the elevator doors opened revealing another long marble hallway. This one was longer, than the last and slightly wider. 

Ryker walked me to a door at the other end of the hall. Stopping in front of it he smiled at me before pushing it open. My jaw dropped to the. floor when he stepped aside. A large canopy bed sat in the center of the room, the far wall was made entirely of windows, revealing the vast forest beyond the castle gates. 

Rose-colored the entire room from the bed linens to the cushioned chairs next to the fireplace. There was even a couch in the corner across from a large tv. Ryker grabbed my arm pulling me around the room. He stopped at one door " this is your closet, I had clothes brought in for you I had to guess on your size but I believe they will fit." 

Walking through the closet it felt like I was in my own personal store, rows and rows of fabrics lined all sides of the room. A plush stool sat in the center. Double doors sat at the back of the closet. Walking over to those I pushed them both open. They revealed a huge bathroom, a glass shower big enough for five wolves sat in the corner. 

Most excitingly there was a massive tub that I could easily swim in by the windows. Across from it were a sink and vanity. Lastly, there was a door that I assume lead to a toilet. "The closet alone is bigger than any room I've ever had. This is too much Ryker." I said looking at him over my shoulder. A glimmer of pain shadowed his eyes for a moment before once again he pulled me into the closer. I swear this man is going to rip my arm out of the socket if he keeps pulling on me. 

"There is one more thing to show you." He said as he walked me to the back mirror of the closet. There was a button next to it that I hadn't seen before. Ryker pressed it and the mirror slid away to reveal rows upon rows of shoes, jewelry, handbags, any accessories I could ever need.

"You really shouldn't have done all this Ryker! This is far too much." I said turning to him. "No Rose this is exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to give you all the things you might have never had before. This is your new home, I want you to feel like it." 

I marched right up to him and kissed him on the cheek before pulling him into a tight hug. He hugged me back just as tightly for a brief moment. Letting him go I walked back into the main bedroom. If you could even call it that, it was the size of an apartment at the minimum. Ryker walked over to a door right next to the door that leads to the hall. Pulling it open he walked halfway through it. "This connects my room to yours, it locks on either side so if you don't want me to enter this way I won't. But I didn't want you far from me. If you ever need me I am right next door, Rose."

At that, my stomach did flips, as my skin began to heat. under his gaze. "I will let you get settled, dinner will be in about an hour, you can come down to eat or have it sent to the room that's up to you. If you need me just knock." Ryker said with a smile before he completely slipped into his room, closing the door behind him.
