Screams.

Were they my own?

Or were they the screams of the other victims?

Crying and holding my burnt shoulder, my back burned with the engraving of a beam that had fallen on my back.

My hands were blackened with the soot and sulfur, creating a black bloody handprint on my shoulder.

Looking back at the blazing fire that had fallen upon the Hot Spring, I saw more people struggling to get out.

My vision began to blur. I had consumed too much fire and polluted smoke and the searing burning in my shoulder and back was too much that I passed out. As my eyes closed, I glimpsed shouting people run over to me.

Sitting up with an sigh and running my hand through my jet black hair, I felt my fingers snag on a few of the knots.

That same damn memory.

Looking out in front of me, I traced my fingers over the scar on my shoulder.

"You're up already." Minako said, opening the door.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, I had another nightmare." I muttered, removing the blanket.

"Today, you'll be skating at the Japan's National Ice Skating Competition." Minako said.

"Then what's for breakfast?" I asked, putting on my glasses.

"Omelette rice." She replied, walking out."Get ready in your skating outfit."

Looking out the window, I slid out of bed and grabbed the costume that hung out all night.

Slipping it on, the fabric clung onto my skin perfectly, as if it didn't want to let go.

Looking in the mirror, my reflection stated back.

(I will be using Yuzuru Hanyu's real costumes as Yuri's)

Heading downstairs, the smell of burnt eggs caused my nostrils to flare. Minako was never the best at cooking.

The sky, it's so vast and scary, like that day years ago. But instead, the sky was black.

My earbuds played the song I was going to skate to today in repeat.

Walking into the building where the competitions were being held, I spotted Victor Nikiforov, the Russian's star skater. He promised the world that he would go to every countries' nationals that choose who goes to the world championships.

Walking past him, I glanced at him. Victor didn't notice me, of course, he was talking to the press and a few of his fans. I would never get noticed by a famous ice skater such as himself.

Victor turned and looked at me as I realized I had stopped moving and was just staring at him. His eyes widened as he saw the burn mark on my back and I quickly pulled my jacket on, rushing away.

No one needed to hear my story, they would just think I'm using it to have the judges pity me and give me extra points.

No, I am going to lose without help.

Yes, I already know I'm going to lose.

I found that every day, after my memory dream, my skating would get unstable and I'd end in last place.

Just my luck that out of all the nights, it happened last night.

Sucking in a breath, the judges called my name.

Removing my jacket and handing it to Minako, I stepped onto the rink, the cool air already nipping at the skin in between the gaps in my costume.

With a heavy sigh, I got in position.

Get ready, Japan, because I'm about to fail.
