What if I could pick their houses?

First of all, there, in reality, is only a couple of characters who's houses I'd change or think would really work for that character or would like to see in an alternate reality so nearer the end I will be writing about me, my house, my favourite houses, etc.. and also what traits I feel I fit for each house and why I'm more one house than the other, etc.. If you don't want to read that bit, don't carry on reading after my opinions of characters. But I would really love it if you did read on as it allows you to get to hear my opinions first but then get to know me more as well which I think it quite a lovely idea, really. So yeah, I hope you like this part! :) Also, I might also talk about where I think the actors would be placed but that all depends on how long this parts ends up before that - if it's too long already, I'll do this in another part.

As we all know, Harry Potter is a Gryffindor. It's that first extremely important moment for the future of Harry Potter in the books and films and there is no better place for Harry to be. He's brave, daring, has no lack of courage and also, at the same time, he can be reckless but not to the point of destruction and that's what Gryffindor House is all about. However, many people have asked the question: What if Harry Potter was sorted into Slytherin?

Now, for me the only thing that would ever make me say 'Harry Potter should be in Slytherin' is the fact that Draco Malfoy is a Slytherin. I ship those two boys a lot, as said before, and if both boys were in Slytherin I'd imagine they'd be good friends and they would have trust in one another. But who would be the bigger influence on the other? I believe, at first, Draco would be more of an influence on Harry. Harry wouldn't want to be mean to anyone, or be a bully at all, but that's what Draco enjoys most and over time Draco would influence him into being rude and maybe even become a bully, possibly towards both Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley instead of being friends with them. In reality, them two probably wouldn't be friends if Harry was sorted into Slytherin so everyone's lives would be much different, not just Harry's.

However, over time when Draco becomes more misunderstood and becomes the boy who didn't have a choice, Harry would be more influential on Draco. Being brave, Harry would fight his demons more than Draco would, but he'd still be afraid of the dark lord and would not be as strong alongside Draco Malfoy as he was alongside Hermione and Ron. Voldemort, due to Harry being a Slytherin, would probably trick Harry into thinking he won't kill him; Voldemort would probably find a way to get Harry and Draco to join up with him by striking a deal such as: If you join me, I won't harm you, but this would all be lies and a trick. He'd find a loophole in his and Harry, possibly trusting him, might even become a death eater which would be him literally just walking closer to his inevitable death by Voldemort and if Harry were to be sorted into Slytherin, I'd feel like Voldemort would win and Draco, angry and upset for his friends death learns to hate Voldemort and the dark arts but, like always, he has no choice and stays with him anyway and becomes possibly more depressed than he always was in his later years at Hogwarts to the end of the Battle of Hogwarts; the battle of which killed Harry Potter and the dark lord had won.

So, in my opinion, I would never want Harry J. Potter to be a Slytherin because that would just be the death of him. He's strong and brave but in Slytherin he would be badly influenced and would fall through all the wrong traps because he wouldn't have, dare I say it, Dumbledore. Also, he wouldn't have Hermione and Ron. And lets not even begin to think about how Snape would feel if Harry was sorted into Slytherin.

However, there is a character I'd love to have sorted into Gryffindor instead of Slytherin. That character, if you haven't already guessed, is Draco Malfoy. I mean, he really does have the traits of a Gryffindor. He's brave although perceived as weak because he couldn't kill Dumbledore but that's not because he's 'weak', it's because he has chivalry and if he was sorted into Gryffindor and was friends with the right people, e.g Harry Potter, he'd be a good, kind and honest person. Also, Draco is one of the most daring characters in Harry Potter! He's definitely more daring than Ron and Ron is a Gryffindor! Just saying. Also, boy does Malfoy have nerve AND courage. He fits into Gryffindor perfectly. I believe that if it weren't for his family and the way of which he was brought up, and even Voldemort, he'd be a Gryffindor and he'd be a good person friends with the right crowd and he'd be so happy instead of depressed. He'd get the happiness he deserves more than so many other characters.
