Donald Trump is President

Holy shit.

He did it.

That motherfucking orangutang did it.

He's the fucking president.

Of the fucking USA.

I apologise for my delay in writing this, I've been staying in an underground nuclear weapon-proof bunker since Wednesday morning. It's quite nice in here to be honest. I've got a pride flag on the wall, I'm playing some Mexican music oh and look the Obamas are here too.

I can't say I was surprised when I woke up to find the Annoying Orange was made the 45th president of the USA. I mean, if Brexit can happen anything can happen. No, I wasn't surprised. Just very very very pissed off. And terrified.

The thing about Donald Trump's campaign is that he didn't campaign using common sense. You know, he didn't make real promises about what he'd improve, instead he used bigotry. Nigel Fuckwit Farage did it too. They said "oh here's a group of people with deeply ingrained prejudiced views. Instead of ignoring that, let's bring it all up to the surface! Yay!"

Instead of blaming the people who were really at fault for crime- criminals, most of whom are even white- they blamed Hispanics and black people.

Instead of blaming the people who are really at fault for terrorism- terrorists, most of whom are even white- they blamed Muslims.

Instead of blaming America's problems on the real people who need to face up and take responsibility, Donald Trump made the majority of people in the USA blame ethnic and religious minorities, which, by the way, is exactly what Hitler did in the 1930s.

A vote for Donald Trump wasn't a vote for changing the status quo, or giving the underdog a chance or making America great again- what the fuck does that even mean, you spend your whole fucking lives telling the rest of the world how perfect you are. A vote for Donald Trump was a vote for racism, homophobia, sexism and religious prejudice.

And it's this that is the saddest part. In an era where black citizens are still being shot for being black and women are still being harassed for being women and LGBTQA+ people are still being attacked for not being straight and/or cisgendered, people didn't vote to end it. They didn't dare vote to make progress by electing the first woman president, instead they voted to take everyone back to the 1950s. THANKS, ASSHOLES.

The thing is, I'm not surprised by the white, rich, straight, cis males who voted for him. That just proves what I already think about the majority of white, rich, straight, cis males. It's the minority votes that get me.

Black people. If you are black or mixed race or any other minority ethnic group and you voted for Donald Trump, you basically voted to put yourself back on the plantations. This man doesn't really respect POC! He doesn't really want to make the ghettos that you've been forced into better because it was men like him who forced you into them in the first place! If he had his way he'd deport you as well as Muslims and Hispanics, he just knows he can't say that anymore! How dare you, after the first black president, vote to take the rational thinking members of your ethnic group back 100 years.

Women. Oh my God. If you stood there and checked the Trump-Pence box what the fuck were you thinking? YOU JUST PUT A RAPIST IN ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITIONS IN SOCIETY. You might as well have gone up to men who might rape a woman and said "DO IT. I'LL GIVE YOU A FUCKING PROMOTION. NO, DON'T WORRY ABOUT YOUR CAREER, YOUR CAREER WILL BE FINE, YOU'LL GET AWAY WITH IT!" Do you even realise what this man will try and do to us women? You can kiss being able to have an abortion goodbye, you can kiss all those laws protecting your rights in the workplace goodbye, you can kiss being able to speak publicly about what this man is doing to oppress us goodbye. Knock knock it's the 1950s calling, open up!

But the worst group of voters are the working class. I mean Jesus Christ. And this isn't exclusively America's working class who do this, Britain's working class did it too. You might as well have just signed up for another eight years of being even more neglected than you already are. And you are neglected. If you lose your jobs in America then that's it. No welfare state to fall back on, you're left to rot. It's beyond awful. But do you know why you don't have a welfare state? Because the rich elite won't pay their taxes for it. Thank God the president-elect pays his taxe- oh wait.

Donald Trump is not your "working class hero". This is a man who considers A MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS to be a "small loan". A man who has a net worth of $3.7billion. A man who was born into a wealthy family and has had money handed to him on a silver platter since the day his mother accidentally gave birth to him. Donald Trump has never lived a day in your shoes. No one in government has. So do you know what you need to do? You need to stop voting for the figurehead of capitalism and start voting for people and parties who actually have your interests at heart. Or at least won't actively make things worse for you. You think things can't worse? You're about to find out they really can.

I'm just in shock. After all that we've done in the last fifty years, all the changes we've made and laws we've passed, people would vote to end that. People really are still that prejudiced.

'Merica, home of the brave and land of the free.

You're going to have to change that motto.
