Chapter 2

I texted Amelia and let her know I couldn't come she was really bummed especially about me going to San Antonio for the summer.

/NEXT DAY/

I woke up and changed into my sleeveless light blue silk top (w/white tank top under it),my whit denim jean shorts,silver sequined toms,and my love themed pandora bracelet that my boyfriend gave me. As makeup and stuff I put on mascara,blush,and powder then lightly curled my hair and put a light blue bow in the back of my hair.

All of the sudden I got a text from Trae. Trae is my boyfriend and the bestest boyfriend, Aaahhh I love him soooo much.

Hey didn't see you yesterday at school missed you!!! Amelia told me about you going to San Antonio. I hate we can't spend summer together, but call or text me everyday.

I feel really upset now.I walked downstairs with my bags. My dad met me at the end of the stairs and took my bags from me and walked outside to put them in the back of trunk. My mom could tell how upset I was I guess because she walked over to me and gave me a kiss on my forehead. "You know it's not going to be as bad as you think?"she said. I just walked outside and got in the car. After waiting like 10 minutes my mom finally got in the car. "Let's get this show on the road!" she yelled in excitement.On our way there I played on my iPhone,texted Amelia and Trae,and just stared out my window and slept.

We finally got there. I couldn't believe it I was actually excited.When I opened the hotel door I saw an invitation to a carnival downtown to kick off summer and I was so going. I told mom where I was going and pulled up the address in my phone and followed the directions there. I arrived and I had never seen anything like it I just stood there amazed."I know.I come every year and it amazes me every time." a boy said. " Who are you?" I asked. "Sorry my name is Alex Constanciano." he just stared at me waiting for me to say mine. "Oh,sorry my name is Lacey Walker and wow this is....." he cut me off. "AMAZING!!! I know right." He said. We rode a bunch of rides around the carnival and he bought me some food. "See ya later Lace!Oh before you go here." He handed me a piece of paper with his number. I told him I would text him. I have already made one friend and he even gave me a nickname and Trae hasn't even given me one yet, but no biggy. I pulled out my phone and tried to pull up the directions back home but, it was dead. CRAP!!!! I was just gonna have to go with my instincts. I walked for like 5 minutes and was already lost and to make it worse it started pouring and I mean pouring rain. I just sat down on the sidewalk under a pavilion and decided I better get comfortable. Just as I started dozing off I heard a car door slam. I looked to see who it was and guess what? It was Alex. "Lace?" he said from a distance. " Oh thank God Alex!" I said with relief. He put his jacket over my head to cover me and walked me to the car. "What are you doing in this storm?!?!" He asked. "I got lost."I stated. I was looking down at my phone when someone said " I'm Austin and you must be Lacey. Alex won't shut up about you!" Austin said. Alex slapped his shoulder. Austin and I both let out a little giggle. We talked and laughed the whole car ride. We finally got to my house and I thanked them before getting out. I walked inside and saw the clock.....1:00am. I had forgotten to text Trae. So I grabbed my charger and waited for my phone to power on and as soon as it did I opened my messages and typed in:

Hey sorry forgot to txt u hope I don't wake you up but wanted to see how everyone was doing. MISS YOU ALREADY!!!

As soon as I typed my name I thought of the nickname Alex gave me "Lace" I said out loud. I really liked that nickname.

I changed into my PJ's and went to bed wondering about tomorrow.
