Chapter 7

He leaned in slowly and gave me a kiss.

"Since the day we picked you up from the pavilion I've liked you Lacey."

" Thank you Mr. Mahone."

We leaned in to each other and kissed again. Mid kiss my mom walks in. Just great I thought!

" Who is this Lacey?"

" Oh mom this is Austin."

"Can I speak to you outside?" she asked.

I knew she was going to ask about Trae.

"What happened with Trae?"

"He went off on me because I was gonna go to the beach with Austin and he was about to hit me when Austin walked in and I ran to my room and I guess Austin said something to make him calm down because he left then I told him we were through."

"Do you even know this Austin boy?"

"Yes mom he is really sweet and to prove it I will introduce him to dad at dinner."

"Okay."

I walked back in my room and told Austin he could stay for dinner. He ran downstairs and helped my mom cook. I could tell she liked him.

After we ate Austin and dad went and sat down in the living room. Dad quizzed him and he passed with flying colors and dad loved him too! This was great news because I really like Austin.

Dad walked in the kitchen and I walked into the living room.

"Alex is really bummed he thought he was gonna beat me to you."

He let out a huge smile.

I hugged him.

"Thank you for helping me today." I said

"No prob."
