We get the bus, I could not breathe. Words and fear build in my throat. Words for anything as Zach tried to talk to me. Fear for what awaited me in High school, outcasting? Bullies? Enemies? Love? Drama? Friendships? I didn't know now but I would soon enough. "You okay, Lydia?" Asks Zach. "Oh yea fine, you know just standing outside of another school to be casted aside in," I say. He gives me a sad look knowing how hard it is for me.
"Dont worry and if you're an outcast than I'll be one too," he says side hugging me. I smile at his offer. "Thanks, Zach," I say. We walk with the rest of the group when we are suddenly in a hurricane like thing, someone with super speed in circling us. It's stops and this chubby kid is in front of us wearing things what you see a wannabe white boy trying to be cool would wore. It was sad. "Hey Freshman," he says rudely. I glare crossing my arms. Some skinny dude stretches his way over. It was like watching a person be stretched or a stick figure in real life.
"Your attention please," he says. "I'm Lash," says the figure. His clothes were ones like a wannabe emo punk white boy would wear. Like a white boy trying to be punk-ish and it was just no. "And this is Speed," he introduces the chubby wannabe. "And as representatives of the Sky High welcoming committee," continues Lash. "We'd be happy to collect that $15 new student fee," smirks Speed like if we're real, scheme. Lash's hand stretch to me, his eyes check me out. I look his eyes and he starts whimpering in pain and pulls his hand back. He holds in saying how much it hurt. If I want to I can look into their eyes and make pain, a lityle trick up my sleeve.
"Nice one, anyway come guys very funny. I'll take it from here," I turn and see a pretty brunette. She was wearing too much pink for my liking. And one Wednesdays we wear pink, that what she reminded me of. (Does anyone get that?)
"Hey everybody, I'm Gwen Grayson, your student body president," she smiles. She had this 'I'm little miss perfect and full of love and pink' kind of vibe and it made me very, very uncomfortable. "I know you're all going to love it here at Sky High. I know I have," she says flipping her hair. Geez she was one those rich girls wasn't she?
Will stare at her like he had fell in love. No! But him and Leila belting together, ugh! Stupid Gwen, #Willa! There go my plans of their wedding. Leila looked crushed, I glare at my brother, he's so blind I swear. I comfort Leila as we move on and Will has no idea what we are doing and I didn't care. We take the tour and it was okay, besides me ignoring my brother and it brother him so much, he begs me to talk to him. Not wanting the attention we were getting from the other students, I talk.
Now we walk into the gym, I say twice as big as a normal highschool gym. We are half way through and a whoosh noise is heard behind us. We turn and see as a big ball of light zooms over us and to the stage. We see it turn into a beautiful lady in a white suit and brown hair. She was stern and serious. The ball of light reminded me of a comic, like a star. "Good morning, I am Princpal Powers. Behalf on all the faculty and staff, welcome to Sky High!" She says with a warm welcoming smile. Zach being the goof he was, goes," Yeah!" And claps his hand. Powers give him a look and that shuts him up, silence falls over as she speaks up once more. "In a few moments, you will go through Power Placement and your own heroic journey will begin." She begins. "Power Placement?" Me and Will question. "Sounds Fancist," comments Leila. "Power Placement, its how they decide where you go," says one in orange. "The hero track or tho loser track," comment the punk purple chick. "That's harsh," I comment.
"There's a loser track?" Asks Will. Everyone say hello and welcome to the new outcast freak of Sky High, Lydia I think to myself. "I believe the preferred term is Hero Support," says the kid in orange again. "For now, good deeds and good luck. Let the adventure begin. Coment's away!," Principal Powers turns to a ball of light and just lik she came, she was gone. Now stood a buff guy in gym clothes, oh geez...
"All right, listen up. My name is Coach Boomer. You may know me as "Sonic Boom". You may not. Here's how Power Placement is gonna work. You will step up here and show me your powers. Yess, you will do so in front of the entire class. I will then determine where you will be assigned. Hero or sidekick. Now, every year there are a few students or as I like to call them "whinner babies", who seem fit to question and to complaint about their placement, so lets get this straight. My word is law. My judgement is final. So there will be no whinner babies. Are we clear?" He asks, his voice echoes loud. We all nod and murmur our yes's. "I said are we CLEAR?!" He asks again, his voice now booming. He had the power juts like my expect a bit different. Mine was about Death, his volume. "Yes Couch Boomer!" We all yell back, well expect me. I simplely scoffed it back at him.
Here it was testing time, time of the real judgement...
