Frisk's POV

"Well, Frisk.. it's time to go now. Are you ready?", Toriel asked.

I looked at Toriel, everyone else then at the eastern door leading to our freedom. Was I ready? Was I really sure that I caught up with everyone, made sure they all knew? I'm pretty sure I did. Hell, I even went back to the snowman. I promised to let apart of him see the surface. Hopefully it's winter by now. I'm not quite sure how long I've been underground. It felt like forever, but surely it could have only been a few weeks. Right? I fell in, around October. Or maybe it was November. I don't remember..

"Frisk, dear?"

"You ok, kid?"

What if I've been trapped under there for years?! What if everything on the surface has gone to hell?? What if our new beginning is ruined? Oh no..

"Human!"

"Hey, punk! Answer us!"

Oh, shit. I looked back over at everyone. I had been staring at the eastern door, lost in thought. I hope I didn't worry them too much.

"S-sorry. Over thinking.", I smiled warmly at them. "Don't worry about it."

They didn't look convinced. Oh well.

I looked up at Toriel.

"I'm.. I'm ready. Let's go."

Toriel smiled back.

"Well then. That's it.. Let's go everyone."

Taking a deep breath, I walked towards the eastern door. Everyone followed behind. With one last look behind me, I stepped out. A white flash of light blinded us then, darkness. What happened? I thought we broke free? Before I lost all hope, sunlight peered through a crack in the caves wall? I smiled, and walked out. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around to see all my friends, beaming.

"Well. Welcome to the surface everyone."

We all walked to the edge of Mt. Ebott. The sun was setting. The clouds appeared orange, pink and purple with the pale blue sky peering through. You could see the villages in the distance. It was truly beautiful. Man, did I miss this.

Asgore broke the silence.

"Isn't it beautiful, everyone?"

"W-wow! It's even better than it is on TV! Way better!" Alphys agreed.

"Frisk! You live with this?! The sunlight is so nice... and the air is so fresh! I really feel alive!" said Undyne.

"Yeah, it's really great.. I've missed it." I looked over at Undyne and smiled. She smiled back.

"Sans! What's that giant ball?" Papyrus asked. I couldn't help but giggle at him.

"We call that the sun my friend," Sans answered.

"That's the sun?! Wowie! I can't believe I'm finally meeting the sun!!" Oh, Papyrus.

"I could stay here and watch this for hours..." said Asgore.

"Yes, it is beautiful, is it not?" agreed Toriel, "but we should really think about what comes next."

She's right. What does come next? Not even I know.

"Oh, right," agreed Asgore. "Everyone, this is the beginning of a bright, new future. An era of peace between humans and monsters."

Everyone smiled their goofy smiles, finally filled with peace.

"Frisk..." Asgore started. I looked over at him. "I have something to ask of you. Will you act as our ambassador to the humans?"

I smiled brightly at the thought. Nothing would make me happier.
