My name is Aurora Anne Waters and I'm 17. My life pretty much consists of moving all time and lots and lots of boxes. Trust me, you open my wardrobe and all you're going find is boxes and clothes.

Anyway, there isn't much I can do about that. It has been and my dad for as long as I can remember. My mum passed away when she giving birth to me and I don't have any older siblings. My dad's parents passed away 3 years or so after my mum did and my mum's parents never really liked my dad. I've never heard from them in my 17 years on this earth.

Me and my dad just moved into this small town called 'Rivers' which is a pretty stupid name if you ask me because there are no rivers whatsoever.

"Aurora!", my dad yelled " Breakfast is ready! Hurry up and get up, you're going to be late for school."

"I'm coming Dad!" I yelled back.

I got out of bed as quickly as possible and made my way to the bathroom.

After I took a quick shower, I went back to my room to figure out what to wear. It was quite cold outside for September so I decided to wear a pair of black skinny jeans, a baggy jumper and my brown boots.

Grabbing my bag, I raced downstairs as quickly as possible. I had to catch the bus today so I couldn't afford to be late on my first day. My dad was already gone to work by the time I got there. There was a container with my lunch in it and some money as well. I quickly ate a pancake and ran out, locking the door.

I got to the bus stop 5 minutes early so I sat down and took out my book. When the bus came into view, I put my book away and hopped on. In the last place me and my dad lived, was much warmer during September. It only started getting cold close to Christmas. It's much more different here. I've been moving so much I can even remember where I lived two and a half years ago.

All I know about Rivers is that it's quite a small town and it gets cold quickly. At least it's something.

But I don't really care. As soon as I finish my senior year here I'm gone. I've already applied for colleges all over the country. I haven't told my dad yet though. Ever since my mum passed away my dad couldn't stand just living in one place. He hates the fact that one day I'm not going to be living with him anymore because I'm the only family he has.

I should feel bad but for some reason I just can't. Just thinking about being in the same college for about 4 years is really exciting. Making new friends, renting out an apartment, getting a job and all those stuff that I never got to have or do.

I've never really had many friends because I've moved around so much. Hopefully this year will be different. But something inside me is telling me this will be the same year as the last.

The bus came to a stop. I snapped out of my little day dream and looked outside the window. I didn't see the school so I thought it was another stop.

"Hey, do you mind if I sit here?" Someone said.

I looked up and saw a girl about my age. She had long black hair and really blue eyes. To sum it up for you guys, she was very pretty.

"Sure."

I removed my bag from the seat and smiled at her.

"Thanks," she smiles "Are you new here? I haven't seen you before."

"Yeah, I just moved here actually."

"Cool! My name's Amanda by the way." She replied, extending her hand.

"Aurora." I said as I shook her hand.

"Oh my gosh, that's such a pretty name!"

"Thanks." I laughed nervously.

The bus stopped and I looked outside. We were outside the school. I haven't even gotten of the bus and I'm already dreading it.

"Aurora! Come on, we're going to be late!" Amanda yelled.

As I got up, I realised that maybe that year wouldn't be so bad. Getting of the bus I quickly caught up with Amanda as she showed me the way to the front office.
