Beep

Beep

I groaned silently, opening my eyes. The light was blinding. I completely forgot to close my curtains last night.

Getting up, I quickly turned off my alarm and walked to my window, opening it. Even though it was quite cold this morning, the fresh air was refreshing. It looked like it was going to be a good day despite the cold temperature.

Just as I was about to go and brush my teeth, the sound of someone arguing and yelling stopped me and made me turn back to the window. I looked outside and silently gasped. It was the guy from my English class. He was yelling at someone but I couldn't see who it was. It did, however, sound like a man. He also looked rather angry and a bit upset. Once again as if sensing that someone was looking at him he looked straight at my window.

I quickly ducked down and held my breath. I waited for what seemed like forever. When I thought that it was safe I stoop back up and was relieved to see that the guy was gone and it was now quiet.

"Thank God.", I muttered quietly. "Great, now he's going to think that I'm a weirdo and a some kind of stalker."

I shook my head and headed to the bathroom to start getting ready.

"Aurora!"

I turned around to face Amanda. She looked really pretty today. I was really surprised when she told me that she doesn't sit with anyone. She is such a nice person and it's so hard to believe.

"Hi." I said, smiling.

"You look a little bit distracted. Are you feeling alright?" She said looking worried.

"I'm fine. Why?" I laughed.

"Well the bell went like 2 minutes ago and you've been staring at your locker for a while now."

"Oh. Right." I guess I was a little bit distracted but I wasn't going to tell her that.

"Come on. We'll be late for English and you know how cranky Mr.Wren gets when someone is late.

I nodded and quickly grabbed all my books from the locker and closed it, walked after her. Luckily we got there with 2 minutes to spare. Thank goodness my locker was close to my English room. I sat down and took all my stuff out. I quickly scanned the classroom to see who was present and who wasn't. When my eyes landed on the guy (whose name I still didn't know), I quickly looked away before he had the chance to look at me.

"Hey Amanda?" I looked at the girl next to me. "What's that guy's name?"

She looked at the guy I was referring to and her eyes quickly widened.

"His name is Drew. He's sort of the mysterious bad-ass around here in a way. You know the ones that smoke and drink and do drugs every weekend. At least that's what I've heard anyway. I try to stay out of his way. He may be hot but he's not worth the trouble." She whispered. "Why are you interested in him all of a sudden?"

"I'm not." I replied quickly. She eyed me suspiciously.

"I would say stay away from him but you will probably do the exact opposite. Just be careful OK? He not exactly the friendliest person out there." she said quietly so that no one else can hear. I nodded but stayed silent.

The rest of the period was uneventful. Mr.Wren kept talking about Shakespeare and the how we have to study it this year. I could feel Drew staring at me all throughout the lesson, making me very uncomfortable.

I felt so relieved when the bell rang. I quickly said goodbye to Amanda and walked to my next class, not wanting to be late. When I got there I immediately picked a seat in the back. It was a desk meant for two people so that meant that I would have a partner.

"That's my seat." a deep voice said.

I looked up, instantly wishing I hadn't. I guess English wasn't the only class I had with Drew.
