As soon as I stepped off the bus, everyone turned around to look at me. I looked down feeling slightly uncomfortable. I wasn't used to this much attention. At all the other school I attended no one really cared who I was and whether or not I was new.

"Come on Aurora!" said Amanda, as she dragged me to the office.

We walked up to the secretary and got my new schedule and locker combination.

"On the back of the sheet that has your locker combination is a map of the school just in case you need help to find your way to and from classes." she said smiling.

"Thank you ma'am." I said politely.

Grabbing the sheets of her desk, Amanda and I walked out of the office.

"Can I take a look at your schedule, please?" she asked nicely.

"Great! You have almost every single class with me except Maths and Biology. Why did you even pick Biology anyway? It's probably the most boring subject in the world." She said laughing.

I laughed and we linked arms walking together to my next class, which happened to be English. I'm so lucky we have it together. It would have been horrible if I had my very first class at this school alone.

When we walked into the classroom, the first thing that I noticed was that everyone was staring at me. I looked down feeling very uncomfortable.

"Don't mind them. We just aren't used to having new students at this school. Barely anyone ever comes to Rivers." She whispered. "Come on. Let's go sit down."

She started walking towards the window seat at almost the very back of the classroom. I followed her and sat down next to her. I looked around the classroom again and noticed that people weren't staring at me anymore. I sighed. I hate when people stare at me. It's always made me feel a little bit insecure. Just as I was about to take my book out of my bag, someone caught my eye.

It was a guy sitting at the very back of the classroom across from us. He was wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and a black pair of converse. I could see a little bit of his brown hair sticking out of his hoodie. As if sensing that someone was staring at him, he looked up, immediately locking eyes with me.

My eyes widened and I quickly look away, just as the teacher walked in and addressed the class. Thankfully she didn't ask me to introduce myself in front of the whole class. I could feel him looking at me the entire lesson as I fidgeted in my seat.

"Hey, are you OK?" Amanda asked looking at me weirdly. "You looked a little bit flustered."

"Yeah, I'm OK." I replied, smiling.

She looked at me suspiciously but eventually gave up and shrugged, looking back at the teacher.

As soon as the bell rang, the boy got up and left. There was something about him that just made me want to get to know him. I looked at my timetable and realized that I had Biology next. I groaned silently, not feeling like learning about science. Don't get me wrong, I loved Biology but I just wasn't feeling it today for some reason. I walked out of the classroom with Amanda. She told me she had to go use the bathroom and that we will meet outside for recess.

I looked at my schedule and realized that I had no idea where to go. The second bell rang which meant that i was going to be late if I didn't get to class in the next 2 minutes or so. I was staring at my schedule when someone bumped into me causing me to drop all of my books. Whoever bumped into me, grabbed my arm just as I was about to go tumbling down. I looked up to apologise but as soon as I did my mouth decided it wanted to stop working.

It was the guy from my English class. I looked away realizing that I was staring at him. He quickly let me go and cleared his throat. He bent down and picked up my books and handed them to me.

"Thank you." I said, still a little bit stunned. He nodded and walked off.

I turned around and watched him walk. There was something about that boy. I shook my head and went to the front office to get them to help me find my class.

I sighed as soon as I got home. The house was empty and quiet but I was used to it. My dad works all the time and I'm pretty much always home alone.

I take off my shoes near the door and head upstairs. I quickly drop my bag on the ground next to my desk and walk into my bathroom, taking my clothes off. I take a super quick shower and wrap a towel around my body walking back into my room. After quickly changing into my pyjamas, I go downstairs to get a light snack and then head back upstairs to do my homework.

As hard as I try to concentrate, I just can't. I can't stop thinking about the gorgeous boy with brown hair and those mesmerizing green eyes. I don't know why but I just keep replaying what happened in the hallway today.

I shook my head, trying to get him out of my head. I mean I didn't even know his name.

Just then my phone beeped, startling me. It was a text message from my dad saying that he was going to come home late tonight and not to wait up for him. I sighed, feeling sad. I knew my dad loved me and I knew he was working hard so we can afford everything but sometimes I wish he could come home at a good time so that we can have at least dinner together like we used to when I was younger.

I walked back downstairs and ordered pizza. 10 minutes later the doorbell rang. I quickly got some money out of my purse and paid the pizza guy, thanking him. I ate 4 slices of pizza before deciding to call it a night. I quickly wrote a note for my dad saying that there was pizza for him in the microwave. I walked up the stairs to my room and put all of my books in my bag for tomorrow. I quickly brushed mty teeth and my hair and jumped in bed, falling asleep instantly.
