"Obey my orders Tonlirr, do you want your precious son to be born?" Whipers the Earth, sounds of endless confusion shook the ground. It even reaches out to the sky. Heard by the whole universe.
"Forgive me Thaecas, your father will be the cause of a great war. How pathetic"
The ground shook, the sky cried and the Gods are mad. The mines of Aeber had been destroyed, rocks fell down the Earth as the great mountain collapsed. Devastating earthquakes plauged the region of the far west, leaving just rubble of gems flooding the towns.
It was on this night, a youngblood is born. Thaecas of Aeber, a traitor's son.The wolves started their hunt, symbolizing the birth of a saviour. Packs and packs of wild animals gather around the town of Aeber, protecting the child. Defending it from the wolves, the townsmen were stunned by the ridiculous amount of wildlife trying to protect a child. Bears, domesticated hounds, wild cats, bugs, and even birds were present. Even these amount of "troops" won't ever be enough to stop the wolves, the wild dogs of Valen are vicious and unstoppable. More will keep coming, never going to stop until the sun peeks among the snow caps.
A pack has presented itself, four wolves. They attacked with great speed, showing their sharp fangs and untamable agility. The animals started their defences, the bears tackled a female wolf, startling it and slowing it down, giving time for the wild cats to strike sharply. Bugs prtected the sacred home of birth by covering it with their strong structures of mud and tree branches, the birds sang the night with calm chirps and cheerful choreographs to relax the child and its family. The wolves continued on and on, attacking everything on sight. The bears are slowly being overrun with great fangs and claws, painful enough to make them faint and eventually bleed to death.More wolves arrived, flashing through the woods and rushing into town with such great speed. The wild cats gave all their best, but it wasn't enough to bring the wolves down. Not even close. Wild blood splattered through the town, leaving just the townsmen to defend their only homes. Swords, bows, daggers, pitchforks and even torches to defend themselves, they stand no chance. Defending the town, they fell and perished, nothing more than just massacred piles of meat and flies. Luckily, the mud barrier was strong enough to hold the wolves down.
Then a cry was heard, a child is born. A hero perhaps, or a youngblood. Silence overtook the far west, calming down the wolves. Leaving them to fall asleep, a remarkable voice that sends the most vicious of creatures to peacefulness. The wolves howled until the sun shines, praising their leader; a child.
The doors opened and a young one crawled out. Admiring the sight of the merciless beasts that slaughtered his whole town, not even scared or terrified. The small child tamed the wolves, making him their friend, a companion, a member of the pack. Its mother walked out, mesmerized and stunned realizing there is no blood in this town. Everything was clean and in order, but alone and in isolation. The houses were covered in rubble, nothing left to salvage, not even a single coin. The gems were gone, that once flooded the town after the earthquakes, all that's left is them, the two of them, and these wolves.
Aeber's mines were no more. Once again filled by mountain rocks, a cave once rich with gems and precious crystals, is now a past of dreams and hopes. The wolves eventually left the town, back to their own homes, it was an end of a generation and a start of a new war.
The child and his mother traveled to the nearest town, Qileveth. There, they sought help and transportation in reaching the central regions, mainly the kingdom of Cioniel. A thriving kingdom in the vast plains, and the main economic leader of the empire in the continent of Valen.
Qileveth is fairly safe and still stable after the earthquake, probably because of its location, farther away from the mountains. In the town still stood its trading posts and a few houses. The mines of Qileveth, gone and no more, as same as Aeber's. Townsmen wanted to know what had happened in Aeber, questioning the mother about the occurance. She decided to stay silent, and to never talk about it, the news could eventually reach the empire and treat her son as a threat. They took shelter in an inn at Qileveth, stayed there for three weeks begging for food and gold. News of the collapse of the far west's mines already spread across Valen quickly, it eventually reached the empire. After a few days, the empire arrived to rescue the remaining settlers and transporting them to major holds and kingdoms at the central regions, taking the child and its mother to Cioniel.
The distance is far and devastating, it took them days and weeks to reach Cioniel. The humble kingdom, as called by everyone, the houses were strong and large, giving them enough living quarters to settle in. It was a rough start, and a sad chapter in their lives, this memory will never leave them. Ever.
A mother cried. The hero is alive.
