•°• Reader's POV •°•

My body was curled up by the fire, my (E/C) eyes closed as my chest rose and fell with each steady breath I took.

It has been two days since the accident, and I haven't moved, eaten, or drank anything since.

Regardless of how many times Cloudjumper placed a fish in front of me and insisted on me eating it, I still refused to.

Cloudjumper never left my side, his large wings draped over my body protectively, and consolingly, to remind me that he was there.

I let out a soft whimper, and instantly the larger dragon pulled me closer to him with his wing, holding me to his warm chest, his eyes closed as he was obviously half asleep.

I nuzzled my face into him, ignoring the heat of my cheeks beneath my scales, but still hoping he couldn't feel it.

He purred softly, and groggily as I sniffled into his chest.

He rested his head on my own and entwined his tail with mine, making me flinch slightly, but nuzzle into his warm body.

I let out a barely audible purr of content as I drifted into unconciousness.

~Timeskip, the next morning~

My eyes fluttered open to see Cloudjumper asleep next to me, his wings holding me to him protectively.

I purred softly and licked his cheek, watching as his yellow eyes opened and fell on me, gleaming softly.

"Morning, sleeping beauty." He yawned, rolling onto his back, taking me with him so I was laying on top of him.

I blushed beneath my scales, "Good morning."

That was when Valka walked downstairs, seeing the cute position we were in and smiled.

I blinked at her and shook myself out of Cloudjumper's grasp, not without a disoproving groan from him.

I padded my way over to the Viking woman, who had kneeled down to meet me.

I cooed and nudged her cheek, making her chuckle as she scratched under my chin, earning a pleasurable purr from me, my eyes closing contentedly.

"I'm glad you've finally decided to come out of the dark." She smiled, pllacing a soft kiss on my nose, to which I sneezed and rumbled cutely.

The front door closed behind me and I turned to see Hiccup and Toothless walking inside, Hiccup having a large covered something in his arms as he smiled at me.

"Hey, you." Hiccup said just as (B/F/N) decended the stair, her (F/E/C) eyes bright to see me interacting.

Hiccup smiled at her and she smiled brightly at the thing in his arms, knowing what it was.

My (E/C) eyes were locked on the unknown thing in Hiccup's arms, curious as to what it was.

Hiccup kneeled down in front of me, a smile bright on his face as I sniffed the thing, trying to identify it.

He pulled off the cloth covering it to show a (2/F/C) artificial tailfin.

My eyes widened and I looked at in awe.

The color was beautiful, and the build was flawless.

But I couldn't help but be nervous and afraid to fly again.

What if I fall again? What if I can't? What if I never learn again?

I let out a soft whimper, withdrawing from the prosthesis nervously, my (E/C) eyes staring at it with fear.
