chapter one : oscar award

"And the Oscar award for break out actress of the year goes to.." Nina Dobrev said into the mic. The room was silent. My adrenaline was going miles per hour, hoping that they'll call my name.

Nina opened the envelope and and smiled widely. "McKenna Levin!" She yelled. The crowd cheered and clapped. Some other celebrity's that were sitting around me congratulated me.

It took me a moment to process that my name was called, it all felt so surreal. I stood up and made my way towards the staircase that lead to the stage.

I walked over to Nina and she gave me a big hug. "Congratulations." She said as we pulled back from the hug.

"Thank you." I smiled.

Nina handed me the Oscar and I walked up to the mic.

"Oh wow. This feels so surreal." I laughed awkwardly. "If I was 13 and you were to ask me where I saw myself in a few years, I would've said working as a barista at Starbucks." I said making everyone laugh.

"I wanna thank everyone who believed in me and supported me throughout my journey. Thank you to my fans a ton for helping me get where I am today. I wouldn't have gotten this far without you."

"Thank you all who supported my co- star and I in our movie and thanks to my team who worked on 'Survivor' I love you all." I finished up my speech and everyone clapped.

I waved out to the crowd and Nina and I walked to the back of the stage.

"Kenna!!! I'm so happy for you! Congratulations." My co star, Tyler, said pulling me into a hug. 

"Thank you, Ty. I honestly thought that someone else was going to win." I truthfully spoke.

"Me too. But I guess you were alright." He said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes playfully and punched him on his right arm and we both laughed.

The award ceremony finally came to an end, but I will admit I was kind of sad it was over. Tonight has been amazing.

My best friend, Anna, had dropped me off at my house after we went out to dinner with Tyler and a few other of our friends.

I hung my keys on my rustic deer antlers which were on a white table next to my front door. I grabbed my phone out of my purse then put it next to the antlers then walked up to my room.

"What a day." I sighed to myself, practically throwing myself onto my bed.

Eventually, I got uncomfortable in my red dress, that accentuated my figure quite nicely might I add,  so I walked to my drawer and got out my pajamas.

I walked to my bathroom and changed. I washed off my make up, washed my face, and brushed my teeth. I didn't feel like taking a shower tonight so I decided on taking one in the morning.

I threw my hair up in a bun and walked out of the bathroom. I got in my bed, pulling the covers up to my chin, leaving my arms out, and turned on my tv.

I grabbed my phone off of my nightstand next to me and went onto Twitter.

I looked at what was trending and number one was '#breakoutactressMcKennaLevin'

I was smiling from ear to ear, replaying the night in my head.

I looked through all of the tweets and pictures on the trend just taking it all in.

The tweets kept going and going from fans to celebrity's that I once wished to be like someday.

I scrolled through some more tweets and one certain tweet caught my eye.

@Calum5sos ; I have been a HUGE fan of  @McKennaL for a long time and it's such an opportunity to see her win an Oscar. I love you Kenna. <3 #breakoutactressmckennalevin

The last tweet I read made me blush. I checked out his account and it turns out that he is the bassist of a well known band called, 5 seconds of summer.

I have heard of them before and listened to a good amount of their songs and it was such an honor to actually have one of them tweet me.

Without hesitation, I tweeted Calum back.

@McKennaL ; @Calum5sos that means so much to me, thank you! I love you too Cal. <3

I felt my eyes getting heavier so I turned off my phone and pulled the covers up to my nose, snuggling up to my pillow.

Then I fell asleep watching 'Friends'.
