josh was always the first of the two boys to wake in the morning. tyler usually kept himself up at night, writing, drawing and just plain creating. whether he created a song, a painting, a pencil sketch, poetry, he was always creating something. it was one of the qualities josh loved about tyler. his creative mind.

josh looked to the window where he saw the snowflakes falling from the sky, adding onto the blanket of snow already covering the rooftops and streets. it was the first snow of the season, and when it snows in new york, it snows.

he then directed his attention towards the sleeping boy next to him. sound asleep, mouth open just slightly, little snores escaping his mouth. his eyelashes resting against his prominent cheekbones. to josh he was the definition of perfection. at any given time you could find tyler looking beautiful. whether it be he is crying, sleeping, laughing. anything. he was always the prettiest boy josh had ever seen.

as josh sat admiring tyler's features he barely noticed the boy beginning to wake. that being until his eyelids fluttered open revealing the chocolaty brown orbs josh loved seeing first thing every morning.

"it's not polite to stare, josh. especially when they're sleeping," the boy said softly as he propped himself up on his elbow to look at josh.

"how could i resist? you never stop looking perfect." josh told him with a small smile.

tyler chuckled. "trust me, i do." he told josh.

"really? tell me when."

"i probably look the worst when i sleep, actually." tyler said as he began tracing shapes into the bare skin on josh's chest.

"you look best when you sleep," josh told him.

"i don't know whether to take that as a compliment or insult."

"you only look best when you sleep because you're quiet and not throwing out that bratty attitude like you do all day, everyday."

tyler laughs. "really! that's how it is, hm?"

"mhm. always so quiet. can't talk back to me. it's peaceful, really," josh said with a smirk.

"i cannot believe you're saying i have that bad of an attitude, joshua," he huffs. "i'm going to go make myself a cup of coffee. you can make your own."

"there it is. jeez, not even ten minutes after waking up." josh laughs as tyler gets out of bed and starts walking out. "it's snowing, by the way." he says. tyler stops in his tracks and turns to josh.

"really?" he whispered.

"mhm. been snowing all night."

"you're joking. this is some sort of thing to make this attitude of mine go away, right?"

"see for yourself, honey."

tyler takes up josh's advice and walks to the window and opens the dark curtains, letting more light into the room.

"oh my god! the forecast didn't even call for snow in the upcoming week!" the boy squeals. "joshie come look at it!" he says excitedly.

"saw it earlier when i got up to pee, babe. come lay back down it's only 9." josh motions for tyler to come back to the bed.

"but the snow-"

"it'll be there when we wake up. we'll go get lunch or something."

"promise?" tyler asks.

"i promise baby. now come on i'm cold without you."

tyler smiles and walks to the other side of the bed. he gets under the covers and cuddles up to josh. josh plants a kiss on tyler's forehead and pulls him closer.

"i love you." josh tells tyler.

"and i love you." tyler looks up and kisses josh softly. "so much."

josh smiles and watches as tyler drifts off to sleep once again, following the boy moments later.

-

josh woke up to an empty spot next to him. he heard music coming the kitchen. josh picked up his phone and checked the time which read eleven-thirty.

he got out of bed and made his way to the kitchen to which he was greeted by tyler singing to christmas music as he was washing the dishes in the sink.

"morning," josh said as he wrapped his arms around tyler's waist from behind.

"good morning. i didn't even know you were awake," tyler told him.

"how long you been out here cleaning?"

"ten-thirty maybe."

"well it's past eleven-thirty now. you better go get ready so we can go get lunch, yeah?"

"yes, sir." tyler put down the plate he was cleaning and turned to face josh where he gave him a quick kiss before going to get dressed.

josh quickly went about finishing the dishes left before he went to get ready himself. he walked into the room where tyler was digging through clothes trying to find something to wear.

"dress warm." josh said as he walked to his dresser and pulled out a pair of jeans.

"yeah because i was totally going to put on my shortest skirt and a crop top." tyler laughed.

"watch yourself." josh told tyler as he grabbed his coat hanging in the closet.

"or what?" tyler looked to josh with a quirked eyebrow.

"keep it up and you'll find out."

"maybe i will."

"alright, suit yourself. get some clothes on." josh said as he threw tyler his coat.

tyler giggled. "yes, sir!"
