“Go!” I yelled as the dragon started to breath fire into Frances’s direction. She didn’t move or stir, or flinch.

I tried to yank her with the rope that hanged from both of our wrist but, dang, that girl can hold her ground. I yelled and screamed her name but nothing. All she did was stare at the dragon, raise her short wand and it’s direction and yelled, “Protego!” There was a sudden silver transparent screen that appeared in front of Frances and the fire crashed into the screen, making it spread. Some of the fire reflected from the screen and landed on the raging dragon’s eyes.

As it was partially blind, Frances quirked at me. “Now!” She yelled at me.

Nodding at her, I pointed my wand on the small rope and casted, “Engorgio!” Small orange sparks came out of the wand and spread though the rope, making it grow around five feet in length. The crowd around us started to cheer and gasped at our brilliant plan.  Frances chuckled at her praise and looked at me.

“Don’t mess this up, Dursley!” She snapped with a grin.

“Wouldn’t dare,” I answered back with a shrug.

The dragon growled and started to charge for me. Oh, god. Oh, god. Oh, god. Oh, god. As the dragon ran closer and closer to me, the crowd cheered my name, yelled at me, giving me tips and spells to use but I froze. But, I never freeze.

Then I realized why. The flashback came to me as fast as that speeding car. The day that I tried to forget with all my might. But the more I wanted to forget it, the more I kept on thinking about it.

It was last winter holiday and I was walking leisurely through the dark night with loads of snow around me. Mother wanted me to buy some groceries for the soup that I craved oh-so much. I don’t know what I was thinking about that was so deep and thoughtful, but I didn’t look both ways when I crossed.

I didn’t hear the loud honks that came from the distant snowy road, nor did I see the bright headlights from the truck from the thick snow that fell from the heavenly sky. I stopped halfway through the road when I finally realized it. Damn, I was so stupid! I felt like a helpless doe on the road. Then it hit me. The huge truck hit me.

The doctors told me that I was lucky to be even alive and not paralyzed. I only got out with a huge scar on the line of my spine. And that was the most frightful night of my life because I lost two weeks of my life because I completely forgot it. I can’t even remember it now.

“Oh, c’mon, Dursley!” Frances yelled. She stepped in front of me and casted the Jelly Legs Jinx, making the dragon tumble down to his feet. It struggled to go back up to his feet. “What the hell is your problem?!” She yelled at me, when she had the chance. “Don’t act all cool and brilliant if you can’t even stand up to dragon that I was afraid of first. But I got over that. You see all these people? Some of them are counting on you, a great, brilliant, smart girl that achieved so much in so little time. Don’t let them down.”

“Sorry, Frances… I just—it made me think of something bad,” I replied looking down.

“Me too, Daisy. But this is no time to be sentimental! We need to act now before the dragon makes us a five-star dinner!” She shook me up and held her hand up, for a high five. I sighed, gave her a high five and nodded at her.

“You’re right. Let’s take this bloody dragon down, Frances Prevot!” I yelled, pointed my wand at the dragon. The dragon was even more infuriated when the Jelly Legs Jinx wore out. It breathed fire towards heaven and glared at the two of us.
