Aiden
The academy grounds were practically empty when Aiden arrived that morning. There were a few students already hanging around, waiting for their friends to show, but it was perfectly calm. And perfectly private.
That's what Aiden wanted at the moment. No witnesses. Not many, anyway. Sure, he came almost every school day early, but that had been to spend some time with Mia.
An unknown shiver ran through him. He kept thinking back on last night, about the hot kiss he'd shared with Alex. Her hourglass body that barely reached his chin in height when he held her in the water. Her eyes glistening when she'd caught sight of the Lovers' Nest. Then everything had gone awry. He'd never had trouble seducing a girl, but Alex... The heavy attraction between them was bone-jarring. It was more like she'd drawn him in, not the other way around. But there had been no way to find out if she shared the sentiment, not with how she constantly hung out with Shelly and Roxy. The Lover's Nest had been the only source to unearth her true feelings. He felt a little guilty about it, but it had been worth it.
It was true that the Lovers' Nest could only be activated in the presence of attraction, but it could only enchant the person who'd never seen it before. It had worked, for a while, until they got in the water. Aiden had heard many stories about couples going to swim in the pool, mostly married couples, to rejuvenate their love and excitement. Well, he must have misjudged the flower when they did the same.
Aiden didn't want to think about that part of last night, though. He definitely felt a connection with Alex; he wanted to be in her very presence right now. And that's why he had to do this today.
Mia liked to come early for some reason.
Someone snaked a hand under his button-up shirt and up his back. A hand that had long, manicured nails. "Mia." He acknowledged without looking at her.
"Hey, baby. What are you doing here this early?" she purred in his ear, which made him shiver, despite his determination. The girl was too sexy for her own good. He'd truly liked her. But he couldn't stop thinking about Alex, either.
"I want to talk to you." He said, trying to hide the weakness in his voice. For some reason, she had that effect, to make you feel weak in the knees – literally. It wasn't her ability, but it was because of this effect that he'd gone after her.
He gritted his teeth and turned to face her. Her hand stayed under his shirt, now over his chest.
"Yeah? Did you know that there is a rumour about that new girl?"
His blood ran cold. "Alex?"
"Yeah. They say that she sneaked out last night with a guy. Her innocent face is pretty deceiving. I bet you that she's done it with every guy in her human school."
