Everybody's mate? (ON HOLD)

Chapter Seven

  Chase's P.O.V

      "I had to have her." He whispered softly. I almost didn't catch it even with my enhanced hearing, but I did. As did the beast inside me. He forced out a warning growl. The girl is his.

      Kris shot me a confused look. He would need to learn soon. She is mine and not his. Soon everyone will know.

      "What do you mean you had to have her?" I ground out.

      "From the moment I saw her I had to do it."

       "Do what?" Jason asked.

      "Have her." He whispered. Kris growled at the same time I lunged at him. My wolf was angry. Another male was trying to stake a claim on what is ours. 

      "Explain." I growled loudly.

       He shook in fear. "She was beautiful, well her mom was." He was going to say more when Kris cut him off. "What does that have to do with anything?"

      Axel shot him a look that made his eyes dark. His wolf did not like being looked at like that.

      "Chase can I see Lacey?" Cici's soft voice drifted into my head.

      "Yeah, come up." I said in my mind while out loud I said, "Guy's Cici is coming up. We will finish this conversation when she leaves." They responded with a nod.

       Everyone was glaring at each other. I was to busy worrying about the small delicate girl in the other room who's wrist I had just broken. Me, her mate. The one who is made to protect her and never harm her.

      "Chase what happened?" Cici yelled jumping into my arms for a hug. "I broke her wrist." I mumbled in to her hair clutching onto her trying not to cry.

      "It's okay." She whispered. She held me tighter for a split second before she was ripped away and I was left cold. I looked over at her but she was blocked by Kris. "Mine." He seethed angrily. 

      Everyone stopped and stared mouths open wide in shock it was so silent you could hear a pin drop it seemed like hours had past when really it was like 5 minutes all the sudden Cici started bawling. Kris whipped around and grab her waist protectively. He looked around for any sign of danger but after a moment stopped when he saw there was none. "What's wrong?" He whispered gently nuzzling his head in her neck, inhaling her scent. With out thinking she clutched on to him. Hiding in his chest.

      "Yorgonatkmeawayndllnvrseemyfrensagin." She mumbled. He pulled away from her and tilted her head up. "What was that princess?" She was beat red.

      "Your gonna take me away and I'll never see my friends again." she said a little louder tears streaming down her face.

      He laughed, "You can see them whenever you like." He pulled her to him trying to calm her down.

        "Really?" She asked when the tears stopped. She looked up at him her eyes shining with hope.

He nodded looking down at her with an awe filled expression. He was whipped. Yet I still envy him.

He looked over at me. "Lacey is your mate. Not mine. I can tell by the way you look at her. Like she's your whole world." He looked down at Cici smiling. She's already his whole world. Lacey is mine. She will always be mine. Forever and Always.

       "So what should we do now?" Jason asked looking around.

      "Do you want to hear the story or not?" Axel asked frustrated.

      We walked down the hallway and headed towards my office. I caught the mouth watering smell of my mate. The others where oblivious and that made me chuckle. They looked over at me confused.

      "What's so funny?" Cici asked. I just shook my head head still smiling. Which caused her to pout. "Tell me!"

      "No."

      "Kris!" She pouted.

      "Yes beautiful?" He asked smiling down at her.

      "Chase won't tell me what he's hiding." He looked over at me and I flared my nostrils. He sniffed the air. His alpha genes allowing him to pick up the scent that had me grinning like a fool. "It's nothing babe." He whispered in her ear causing her to shiver.

      "Get a room." Jason groaned causing Cici to blush and Kris to smirk and wiggle his eyebrows.

      We made it to my office and I pushed open the mahogany doors gesturing for them to follow inside. After they all came in and got comfy I stepped inside and closed the doors. Before they shut all the way I saw my little mate peek her head out from behind the table in the hall. I couldn't stop the smile from taking over my face. She was so obvious.

      I sat in my chair and looked at them. We were all waiting for Axel to start.

      "As I was saying her mom was beautiful. I loved her, but she didn't feel the same. She chose a pathetic human over me." He spat. I held up a hand before he could continue. "Lacey you can come in." Everyone looked around confused except for Kris who smiled knowingly.

      She stepped in looking every bit the angel she is. Brown hair fell down her back in waves, big doe eyes wide with shock. She was wearing my t-shirt instead of her hospital gown. I grinned I hid her clothes and only left my shirt so she would wear it.

      "Sorry." She whispered hanging her head.

      I got up and walked over to her. She flinched when I got close. She flinched clutching her wrist to her chest. I pulled her out into the hall. "Lacey I'm so sorry." I whispered a tear running down my face.

She looked up shocked, "You're crying?" 

      "I'm your mate and I hurt you. The one thing I'm never supposed to do." 

         She hugged me. "It's okay."

      My wolf howled in happiness. My mate forgave me. She still loves me. I grinned down at her. I leaned down and kissed her cheek.
