Chapter 2: They Seem to be Monsters.

There I lay crying myself to sleep and feeling completely foolish for it because there was no way she would remember me. My gulping sobs seem to drown out the world around me but, I can still faintly hear the comforting roar of the flame in Mother and Father's room.

Slowly the roar of the flame grows louder and louder. At first I don't take it for much until I heard screams. Immediately I cease my sobbing and listen more closely as the two sounds grow louder and closer. Frightened I make the mistake of looking out my small window, and freeze in shock and horror. My hometown is in flames, people are running all over with looks of pure terror etched across their faces.

Then I notice the shadows drawing closer and closer to my house through the smoke. They seem to be monsters sporting extra limbs or grotesquely formed. At first I'm too scared to do anything, but then another explosion sends me running to my parents bedroom.

"Mommy, Daddy I think there are monsters coming." I whimper.

I listen carefully for a response but none comes. Carefully I walk over to my parents bedside to shake them awake but as I reach for their covers something grabs me from behind.

"Let me go!" I shriek.

"Lilly stop! It's me, Juvia.
