Mark's POV

"Welcome to the academy, Mark." Nate exclaimed cheerfully once we entered the double doors.

The three-story building of the academy has rows of window equally lined up of three columns. Each one for every room. The double doors on the left, right, and center in the front, each one guarded by security. All three of the double doors of the school are open. Some people were unintentionally blocking the left door for some who are entering the building.
AJ stepped off the bus and walked towards us. He wrapped his arms around our necks. "Hope you'll get the same classes as us. Don't want you to be lost." He said enthusiastically.
I cringed, grabbing his arm and put it by his side.

Don't worry about it. I faced him and faked a smile, walking away from them and through the double doors on the far right. I stopped after entering.

There were people standing around talking, laughing, walking in all directions, through hallways and to classroom.
Great, at least this place has somewhat of a normal society with trusted individual. Here's a rule that's always been in my book. Never. Trust. Anyone. I can't trust anybody anymore after everyone's seperation due to the incident. You think that three months of living alone in isolation, being forced to survive through the painful experience is harsh? Try being decieved, manipulated, and assaulted by others that you thought you can trust. A lot has happened during those months that killed me inside. Turns out I've been running with the wrong people. You can never tell who's going to deceive and betray you in the end.

"Where's the main office?" I asked. I had a meeting with the principal to discuss my classes and schedule and where I stand in this little comminity so I don't accidently cause some sort of arsonist  crime to their bubble of a sancuary. I heard they do that to everyone.

"Up the stairs and make a U-turn." AJ answered.

I asended the staircase to my left with the two behind me, scouring around left and right and taking in the interiors. Downstairs there are expanded area rooms and gyms for physical training and upstairs there are classrooms. It's a massive building that only serves those purposes, but it's worth it. The dining area, libraries, and etceteras are in another building. This campus only has four buildings: The academy, two dometories, and the mess hall.

After I got up and moved to the side, gazing around and seeing more people than downstairs. I made a U-turn to the main office.

I turned around to look for Nate and AJ. They've disappeared. Where did they go? Must be with friends they've found. I couldn't find them through the crowd. I'll find them later. I expect this behavior from AJ, but not Nate. His loyalty to me is genuine, most of the time. He's only there when I needed him most. But to him, today was not one of those days. I face forward, feeling confident. Not nervous like everyone else. I might feel a little stressed, but that's it.

Oh, here goes this nervous feeling. I started to felt unease in the stomach. I never wanted to be here in the first place. But I guess it's better than being out there in a dystopian world. Way better. This place is a sancuary where people are living through their happy lives without a care in the world... yeah... a little too happy. Makes me wanna get out. But for some reason, my tattoo started glowing sometimes whenever I pass by. Not sure why though. But it's calling for me. Full of anticipation I never felt was my own. Like something is summoning me here. Same feeling I've been having for a while now.

I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Then, I walked to the office for the meeting.

********

This is not your typical meeting where you just sit around while having to listen and discuss a certain topic. NO! After entering, they ask you a series of question with some sort of telepathic creep next to you before you can go free! I understand why, having a lie detector and all that, but I swear, how do people deal with this sort of torture?
