Lexi's P.O.V.

We watched Sammy and Grayson run off into the mass of people at the mall.

"Ok. One of us has to pose like a mannequin in a store window. And I don't wanna get in trouble so you can do that one." I said, looking at our list.

"Okay." Ethan said laughing. He interlocked his hand in mine. We walked around until we found the perfect window to do it in. We decided on Abercrombie & Fitch. We walked in the store.

"Try to act casual." Ethan whispered, trying not to laugh, letting go of my hand. He walked to the window, and I was standing outside the store. He went in and posed like the mannequins next to him.

"Come on!" I whispered/yelled. I laughed as Ethan ran out of the store, grabbing my hand as he ran by.

"That was intense!" He said laughing. "Alright I have one for you." He smirked.

"And...?" I said, kinda nervously.

"Go over to that security guy and propose to him." He smirked again.

"Seriously?" I asked, not wanting to.

"Well I can't!" He said.

"Oh lordy. Fine." I walked over to him. He wasn't bad looking.

No. He's not good looking. You have a boyfriend for crying out loud. And I kinda like Ethan.  I thought.

"Um, can I help you?" He asked. And at that moment I realized I'd been standing there the whole time.

"Yes, uh, will you-" I hesitated, looking back at Ethan who was recording this, then got on one knee, "-do me the honor of marrying me? I know we don't know each other but it was really *love* at first sight..." I said, looking up at him, feeling humiliated.

"Listen, you're cute, and funny but I got to get back to work. Sorry, darling." He walked away, leaving me dumbfounded on one knee in the middle of the mall. I got up and walked back over to Ethan, who had stopped recording after I got rejected.

"Well that backfired." I said, laughing a bit.

"Yeah." Ethan said. "Can we talk for a minute?" He smiled.

"Of course." I said, as we sat down on the fountain where you throw pennies in. Ethan took my hands in his. He rubbed his thumbs on mine.

"Lexi, I really- uh, I just wanted to tell you- that I...really like you. If you haven't figured that out yet. And I know you have a boyfriend, but I just wanted you to...know." He trailed off.

"Ethan. I feel the exact same way..." I said, looking into his eyes.

"Really?"

"Yes." I smiled.

He leaned in, and I closed my eyes. His soft lips moved with mine. We kissed for a few seconds. I pulled away.

"We need to find Sammy and your brother." I said, realizing we've been gone from each other for a while.

"I think we've accomplished enough." He said with a wink.

We wandered around the mall until we found the two in Macy's, smelling all the perfumes.

"Boo." I said, SO enthusiastically behind Sam.

"Where were you guys?" She asked, not turning around- too focused on the perfumes.

"Doing the scavenger hunt...?" I said, laughing.

"Lexi, smell this!" Grayson said, shoving a bottle in my face. I smelled it.

"Grayson, that's so strong, oh my gosh." I coughed.

"I bought it." He declared proudly.

"Of course you did." Ethan said.

"Are you guys ready to go back?" Sammy asked us all.

"Yeah, are you?" I asked.

"We've been ready for like 20 minutes, that's why we're smelling perfume." She laughed, gesturing to Gray, who had a bunch of test strips spread across the counter. We all walked out of the mall into the parking lot. Grayson got into the driver's seat, Sammy in the passenger's seat, and Ethan and I in the backseat.

"Today was so much fun, Lexi." Ethan said, as he put his hand on my leg.

"It really was. We should hang out again before you guys have to leave." I said. He leaned over and kissed me.

All of a sudden, we all jolted forward and I hit my head hard on the window, then everything went black........

I woke up in the hospital to see Sammy and 3 other boys, sitting around me. One of them noticed I was awake.

"Ethan, she's awake."

One of the boys ran over beside me, taking my hand. "Lexi, you're okay."

I pulled my hand back.

"Who are you?"
