Alex opened her eyes slowly and yawned. She looked down at the joined hands in front of her chest. She quickly let go of his hands and rolled her eyes at the memories of herself trying to escape the night before. She still decided to keep up the "nice act" for a while though.
"Morning Peter." she greeted when she turned around to face him. He opened his eyes slowly and smiled.
"Morning, love." He replied, they both lay there looking at one another for what felt like forever.
"We should probably get something to eat." Alex suggested, he nodded quickly.
"That's a great idea." He told her as he got up, she still lay there for a few moments longer though. Thinking. Thinking about the amount of people who have been where she is now. The foolish people who dream of being there. If they only knew the truth.
"You ready, love?" Peter asked as he popped his head inside the tent. Alex was awoken from her day dream and walked outside. The sun was so bright that her eyes took a while to adjust properly. It's amazing how they had a storm last night and it was like the sahara desert the day after. She saw Peter sitting on a log, thinking also, she so wished she could get inside that little mind. She sat next to him and he shook his head, gathering himself, he handed her a plate.
"Where the hell did you get a plate?" She asked out loud, he laughed at her.
"Hi, I'm Peter Pan and I live in Neverland. That answer your question?" He spoke sarcastically, she playfully glared at him.
"Well, there's no need to be rude about it." She joked and began eating the food she was given.
"So, you never answered my question last night, about Wendy." Alex tried, she was really curious, Peter's face dropped, he wasn't happy.
"I told you, not today!" He growled at her, she frowned and put her plate down on the ground.
"Well if not today, when?" She demanded, she stood up and looked down at him for emphasis.
"NEVER! DOES THAT WORK FOR YOU?" He shouted at her, he then stood up, towering over her, but she didn't back down.
"Why? What do you not want me to know?" She asked, he didn't answer. "Did you kill her?" she wondered, he shot her the dirtiest look ever, she put her hands up in surrender. "Just asking."
"I would never harm her, except for years I did. I kept her hidden away from the world. I never took the time to appreciate her. When I finally did I... I done the worst thing possible." He paused, Alex took hold of his arm, attempting to comfort him.
"Go ahead, it's alright." She promised, why she was being so nice, she had no idea. She really just wanted to find out about Wendy.
"I fell in love with her." He finally admitted, Alex raised an eyebrow.
"That's it? What's so bad about that?" She asked, he shook his head, he knew she wouldn't understand.
"Love is the one emotion I refuse to feel. When you feel love, you mature. When you mature, you grow older. So loving her was draining my youth, I loved every minute I spent with her, that was the problem." He explained, her jaw dropped.
"So you gave up a beautiful girl so that you could stay young forever? That's so... selfish! What happened to her anyways?"
"I let her go, I told her I didn't care about her anymore and brought her home. She didn't want me to leave but I made her think I hated her. Truth is, I could never hate my beautiful Wendy-Bird."
Alex thought she felt a tear come along, but she was ok.
"Do you ever look for her?" she asked, he shook his head.
"No point, she would be in her 20's or 30's by now, I look like a 17 year old boy. Never going to happen, besides it's for the best." Alex chuckled at this.
"I can't believe you just said,'never going to happen'. I'm in Neverland with the famous Peter Pan this whole conversation is a realistic 'never going to happen' moment!" She spoke frantically, he chuckled.
"This is why I like you, you're different, sort of quirky in a way." He complimented, she felt the corners of her mouth go up in a smile.
"Well, I do try." She joked, she looked at him carefully, still trying to figure out what was going on inside his head. Then before she knew it their faces began to get closer together, she didn't know what to do. But luck was on her side, just before they kissed there was a scream which caught their attention. They both jumped apart and Peter looked around frantically.
"Stay here!" He ordered before flying up into the sky and taking off east-wards. Alex's curiosity got the better of her, and since when did she ever do what she was told. She ran in the direction in which Peter had just flown only to run into the invisible barrier around camp.
"Fuck me! Just my luck." She grumbled in pain, she looked up to the sky wondering if that was the only way around the barrier. "I flew once, maybe I could do it again." She thought to herself, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. "Think of flying, think of flying..." She repeated this until, to her amazement, she began to feel nothing but air under her feet. Her eyes shot open in surprise. "I done it, I DONE IT!" She was so happy in that moment she forgot what she was doing. She quickly snapped out of it though and flew up past the trees and took a chance, flying forward and praying she didn't crash into the barrier. Nope, no barrier, she was finally free. She looked down to the ground on hope of seeing Cecelia, even if it was just a dream with her father she trusted Cecelia. She spotted something on the ground, under a tree and flew down to inspect it. It was Cecelia and Hook, they were asleep under the tree. They were back to back, Hook with a sword in his hand and Cecelia with another sword in her's, prepared for an attack. Alex was careful not to frighten them for fear they would attack her. She kept a safe distance and spoke and softly as she could.
"Cecelia, wake up." She spoke, Cecelia frowned and shook her head.
"Fuck off, Hook, it's to early." She complained, Alex rolled her eyes, did she really sound like a man?
"It's not me, love." They heard Hook mumble in his sleep, it took them a few seconds to register what he had just said. When they did Cecelia and Hook both sat up quickly, swords at the ready.
"I'm over here." Alex told them, they both turned in her direction, pointing their swords at her.
"Oh it's you again." Hook mumbled and lowered his weapon, Cecelia smiled widely and put her sword away before running to hug Alex.
"We were going to go look for you today, you know, once we woke up of course." Cecelia told her, Hook raised an eyebrow.
"We were?" He asked, Cecelia rolled her eyes and ignored him.
"How did you get here? Where's Pan?" Cecelia asked frantically, Alex put a hand up to tell her to calm down.
"I flew here and Pan is gone to inspect a screaming girl somewhere on the island." Alex explained, Cecelia bit her lip, she looked nervous.
"That was me who screamed." She told Alex, her eyes grew wide with fear.
"Are you alright!?" Now it was her turn to feel worried.
"I'm alright now, it's just that I suggested to Hook that we practice some battle strategy and so we did and he almost killed me." Cecelia explained, Hook sighed.
"I didn't almost kill you, I just shed some blood on the neck area." He defended, she glared at him.
"You know what's in the neck, Hook, your jugular vein, if that gets cut you're fucked. LEARN IT!" She told him, he didn't answer.
"That means Pan is on his way here?" Alex asked, the other two nodded, they all decided it was best to leave now before Pan found them. "Why did you stick around anyway?" She asked Cecelia who walked behind Hook with her.
"Pan has something belonging to me, and I intend to get it back, one way or another." Cecelia explained, Hook turned around to the two girls.
"Yes, I've been meaning to ask you, what exactly is it he took from you?" He asked her, Alex looked at Cecelia, she was curious too.
"You'll find out when I get it back, and when I do Pan's going to wish he never brought me to this stupid place." She explained, Hook smirked, he liked this girl.
"Where exactly are we going?" Alex asked, she was starting to get tired.
"Back to the ship, I need to collect a few things before we continue hunting down this demon." Hook told her, a sudden rush of excitement ran through her.
"Oh my god! I'm going to be on the Jolly Roger!" She squealed excitedly, Cecelia chuckled at her.
"Trust me honey, once you've been on it you'll never want to go on it again." Cecelia told her, Hook sent her a glare, she replied with a simple wink.
