"Hi," North smiled at Jude as he came up to greet him in the school hallway. Jude slung an arm around North's shoulders, which startled him, and made him pull away.
"North?" Jude's face contorted into concern as North stared at him wide eyed. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No," North said suddenly feeling guilty for pulling away from Jude's contact, going in closer to Jude, but still not quite touching. "It's just... no one knows...," North Sinclair didn't have to finish before a knowing look passed over Jude Griffin's face.
"I understand," Jude let a sympathetic smile flow onto his face as he took in North's worried features. He truly did understand where his hazel eyed boyfriend was coming from. The fear of judgment, the fear of the stares- the attention, and as far as he knew, North Sinclair did not like to have attention drawn to him. Suddenly Jude flashed back to the first day him and North had allowed their contrasting eyes to come into full contact- North had asked why the teacher wanted him to read, obviously not prepared to have people listening and judging his voice.
"If you're not com-," Jude started, but was cut off by the brown haired boy.
"No, it's not that...," North sighed, running his slender hand through his already ruffled and curled hair. North's freckled cheeks started to become red as Jude and him waited for North to find the words. "I haven't even told my parents and I would almost feel bad announcing it to the whole school, and not my parents first."
"Well then we can-," Jude started again, but failed to get a sentence out before North Sinclair interrupted.
"Yeah, I need to talk to you about something, but I'm just going to skip over some of it right now and ask you the question," North blurted out surprising Jude just a little bit. "Do you want to come over for dinner tonight?" North asked, the whole time worrying about what would happen if Jude says yes, or what happens if he says no.
"Of course," Jude smiled. North's heart started to beat faster, but unlike how it usually does in Jude Griffin's presence, it beat against his chest painfully in response to the nervousness that started to arise all throughout North's body.
Oh boy, North thought.

I attached the song I was listening to while I was writing this chapter and thought it kind of accurately describes how Jude often feel around on another.
