Chapter Seven

Day 3/30

"Alright class! Get in groups of threes and start your projects!" Their home economics teacher yelled, clapping for the class to get started. The students groaned, the class was going to preserve vegetables and it sucked because it took lots of time to prepare the ingredients.

"Kana-chan! Please be my partner!"
"No! Kana-sama is my partner!"
"HUH?! Like she wants to be paired with a loser like you!"
"Oi, you can't cook for shit."
"KANA-CHAN!!!"

"Kizuna-san." Kuroko grabbed Kana's hand. "Please be Kagami-kun and my partner." Not even waiting for an answer, the phantom man dragged the girl away, making their classmates scream about where Kana went.

When Kana and Kuroko reunited with Kagami, the red head was already starting on the project on his own. He wore an apron over his school uniform and was mixing some spices with cabbage and white radish.

"Oh, Kana you're joining with us?" Kagami asked his girlfriend, putting an apron over her and tying the string into a bow.

"U-Uhh...! Yes!" Kana blushed at the closeness between the two. Kagami noticed it and began to get hot faced too.

Choking stopped the two, and they turned to a blue haired boy who's face was equally as red but it was because of another reason.

"OI KUROKO! WHO TOLD YOU TO EAT THE CHILI?!" Kagami shouted, grabbing attention. Kana caught Kuroko before he fell but ended up falling on top of the boy.

"Taiga, what do I do?! Kuroko-san is dying!" Kana asked, grabbing water and propping up the boy to help him drink the water. "K-Kuroko-san?!"

"I'm okay Kizuna-san." Kuroko said, grabbing the glass of water and drinking it on his own. "Please get off of me. Kagami-kun is being a child in the corner."

Kana quickly got off of Kuroko and turned to Taiga with a confused face, who was stirring the dish angrily while muttering to himself.

"Taiga..?"

"What? You're done with Kuroko now?" Kagami fumed. Kana stood next to him with a nod.

"Do you need help?" Kana asked cautiously. Kagami said nothing, only continuing to mix ingredients but right when Kana was about to walk away, he spoke up.

"Pour some more salt in here... Please."

The brown haired girl giggled softly, pouring a bit of salt into the mix until Kagami told her it was enough.

When she was going to walk away to put back the used ingredients, a large hand grabbed her arm, stopping her in her tracks.

Kana turned around with a surprised look. Kagami was looking down at his feet with red cheeks, his eyes had a frustrated glint to them.

"S-Sorry for acting that way." He spoke quickly, walking away. He didn't want to admit that he was being childish and stubborn. He also didn't want to see the girl's disappointment face from how he reacted.

Yet the girl only responded differently from how the red haired power forward imagined her to respond. She followed behind him with a light smile.

"Taiga is cute." She said simply, taking light steps away from Kagami, who turned into a mess from being called cute.
