Thunder shook The house and the lights flickered again. The power hadn't gone out for more than a few seconds but it was only a matter of time until it did. Eliza Schuyler was hiding under the covers, thankful her bedroom was in the basement.

Her phone went off and she looked over at it. Alexander had texted her. Eliza picked up her phone. Might as well try and get my mind off the storm, she decided.

There was a timid knock on Eliza's door. "Eliza! Daddy wants you out here with the rest of us."

Eliza sighed and hopped out of bed. She knew better than to argue with her father.

As she exited her bedroom, Eliza's phone went off again. She silenced it so her dad wouldn't get suspicious. It was no secret that he was against his daughters hanging out with Alexander and his friends, however, the Schuyler sisters had never been very good at listening.

Eliza sat down next to her older sister, Angelica. Being the middle child, she could've gone with either Angelica or her dad and Peggy, but if she wanted to text Alexander, she knew she should stick by Angelica.

"Did you look at the group message Alexander sent out yet?" Angelica whispered.

Eliza shook her head, "Not yet. I was about to, but Peggy called me out here."

"Well they're all talking about the storm. It's possible we won't be able to leave for Chicago tomorrow morning."

Eliza turned her phone back on and read what had been sent so far;

Alex💖: This storm is inspiring my inner poet at 11 pm and I just want to sleep

Hercules💪🏾💪🏾: Beat it up

Alex💖: How?

Aaron Burr: This is why I don't write

Alex💖: That and you have no talent

Angelica: BURN 🔥🔥

Aaron Burr: Like Alexander has any real talent🙄

Alex💖: The sky was dark, the sea as well
They fought and fought as night fell
Clouds covered stars and the moon was new
Blue faded to black while the storm brew

Aaron Burr: You're only saying that because you have a crush on him

Me: Am not!

Me: And I don't have a crush on him!

Angelica: Sis, you have a heart emoji next to his name

And Peggy: You guys realize our dad can see all of these messages?

Me: Well I'm not hiding anything, so whatever
