"Thank you for coming over!" says my mum as the Jero's walk through the door.

"Oh no, thank you, Lisa and Allen!" says Mrs Jero, I wave goodbye and run upstairs. I stare in the mirror, looking at a small drawn line on my face.

"Will!" I race out of my room and into his, slamming him down on his bed, he screams, "What is this! Did you do this! Why!"

"I didn't I promise!"

"Oh yeah! Are you sure about that!"

"Why do you care? It's just a small pen mark!"

"Because I just do!"

"What because you are embarrassed that the neighbours saw you like that the entire time!" he giggles, "ha ha I knew you would! You shouldn't sleep at the table you know"

"You did do it! You little-!"

"Ella!" screams mum running into the room, grabbing my shoulders and pulling me back.

"Mum! He put a mark-"

"I don't care what he did! Please stop yelling, you can hear you guys three blocks down the street!"

"What? But he-"

"Leave his room now!" I storm out into the bathroom, and then wash the mark off my face. Stupid Will, sometimes I hate him. I lie on my bed, closing my eyes, I imagine myself back home, with my friends Katie and Fran, laughing about everything. But then I open my eyes, and I'm not there. I'm about to start reading that boring book before I hear a knock on my door. "Memories got to be coming in fasters guys."

"Come in..." my mum pops her head around my door before smiling and coming in, sitting beside me.

"Look, honey I'm sorry but you just can't do that to your brother, you know that what he did to you I just a... brother thing its-"

"Ugh! Mum I know... it doesn't matter" I say sliding onto the ground, then lying there flat on my stomach.

"Oh El, I know you want to go home, but soon you are going to love it... I promise... plus that Jayce boy-" "We have at least a thousand novels on the shelfs! Now please get inspired and use some more original lines!"

"Mum! No!" I scrunch myself into a ball, mum laughs coming down and sitting beside me.

"Honey, sit up, I actually came up to tell you something, I haven't told Will yet, but it is pretty important." I sit up, half curious.

"I have something to say too."

"Yes well, you first."

"I have been hearing stuff." I mumble the last part.

"What?"

"Nothing don't worry... Anyway you?" I stare into her hazel eyes and her face that has layered, shoulder length light brown hair surrounding it.

"Ella, I'm... I'm pregnant!" I gasp loudly, and then squeal in excitement.

"MUUM!!" I launch myself onto her, wrapping my arms around her. She squeezes me tight laughing into my shoulder.

...

In my first class I sit next to Chelsea who keeps her distance, not even looking at me once. But I don't care and I don't really blame her, I was a jerk and it got the better of me. When the bell rings I close my books and head to my bag. The girl with the small voice comes to pass me, and I decide to talk to her, I need to make a friend sometime.

"Hi," I say quietly, she stops her face shocked.

"Oh, hi."

"Hi... ha ha... I'm Ella..."

"Cool... I'm Melonie..."

"Pretty name." her cheeks turn red as she smiles.

"Oh... ha ha... you have nice name too"

"Thanks, can I sit with you?"

"Oh! Yes... sure."

"Awesome." I spend the lunch break sitting and reading with Melonie, I can't help but feel like I shouldn't be here, as she seems nervous. I can practically see sweat rolling down her face.

"You know... Melonie, I'm not the one to judge... if you know what I mean..." she stares at me, "You see... you don't have to be nervous, I think you're cool! So... yeah." When we get back to our books, I can see that it helped, as she has a slight smile forming. I look over my book as I hear people talking on the other side of the library. It's a group of girls, they stare at me and Melonie, giggling. I roll my eyes and look back to my book, before suddenly they walk over to us.

"Hey... your that new girl right?" says one of the girls.

"Yeah..."

"Could we borrow you for a second?"

"Oh yeah... sure," I lift myself up and walk with them to the other side of the room.

"What's up-"

"Why are you sitting with...? Melon?" I stare at them, unbelievable.

"Because... she is nice-"

"Yeah... but all she does is read... and she is... not very... cool... if you know what I mean... you should sit with u-"

Excuse me?! How dare you say that about her or anyone! Everyone is cool in their own way... And really... who would want to be the cool... your way? Talking behind peoples back all the time... it's ridiculous! I wish I could say that, but instead just let out a deep breath and walk back to the coach.
