I stretch out my arms as my alarm goes off; tapping it I open my eyes. Oh right, school. This morning is rushed as dad leaves early and mum has an interview and she has to make sure we are fed. Mila's babysitter comes and we get the bus, so it is madness. I leave my chocolate, curly hair that's up to my belly button out, and just pin the fringe to the side. I wear my grey, just above the knee dress, that starts off tight then becomes loose and slightly puffy at the waist, with my stockings, because it is slightly cold and I bring a jacket just in case. I slip on my ankle boots and put my bag on my back before kissing mum goodbye and heading to the end of the driveway.
"Its 7:30 am, and we are waiting for the bus, ridiculous!" grumbles Will as he falls onto the bench in front of our house. It's true, it is early, school would start at 10 am and go till 4 pm, but this school starts at 8:30 am and ends at 3:00 pm. I sit next to Will and pull out my IPhone, lots of new messages,
-Missing you Ella :P
-Hope I see you around ;)
-Didn't get to talk much, but maybe there is more time now? <3
-Hey, don't forget me okay
And they continue on and on... from people, I was never friends with, funny what happens when you leave. Finally I get to my real friends, Katie (otherwise known as KatieTheUnicorn) and Fran (otherwise known as FRAN :D (They both named themselves that on my phone)) I smile as I read their texts,
KatieTheUnicorn- HEY, OH MY GOOOOODNEEESSS, PLEASE, LETS ORGANISE SOMETHING!!!!
FRAN :D- Tell me everything that's going on in that new exciting life of yours! And let's hang, with Katie of course! Miss you!!!
I'm about to reply when I hear a front door close, I turn around to see the boy, from the stairs, he has Curly, black hair, and he wears a white, t-shirt with black, skinny jeans and black, big shoes. I stare, it doesn't take long before he finds my eyes and begins heading towards me... or the seat. He awkwardly sits down beside my brother.
"Hey, you're our neighbour right?" Says Will
"Yeah," says the boy.
"Cool, I'm Will, what's your name."
"Jayce, Jayce Jero-"
"Hey! New people at this seat, huh?" yells a boy from down the road, he has blonde hair and wears practically the same thing as Jayce except different colours, and a jacket.
"Hey, Conner, uh yes," says Jayce.
"Sweet," Conner says standing in front of Will, "hey, man" he holds out his hand and Will slaps it. Conner's eyes drift to me, "Ah ha, and what is your name?" I feel my face heating up as I lace my fingers.
"Ella."
"Ella, ha, like an English movie star, you look like an English movie star, dark brown hair, gorgeous light skin... " Ridiculous, I roll my eyes,
"Hey, I'm right here..." buds in Will, with our supposed to be (in Conner's point of view) a beautiful moment.
"Sorry... it's just... true," he says with a smirk, does he think I will fall for that.
"Come on, Conner, really?" says Jayce finally, Conner sits down on the pavement beside Jayce, sighing.
...
"As you may have already seen, we have a new girl in our class, please make her welcome." Everybody's eyes search for me and stare once they see me. "Chelsea, would you mind showing her around a bit that would be great." The person next to me smiles, she is obviously Chelsea, and she has straight, chin length, light brown hair and freckles that cover her cheeks.
"Hi, I am Chelsea."
"Hey, I'm-"
"Oh I know- sorry, the teacher told me before."
"Right,"
"Where are you from?"
"I used to live an hour away from here,"
"Cool!"
As the bell rings for lunch I make my way out the door, about to walk down the corridor, before an arm grabs my shoulder.
"Oh, Ella, do you even know where your bag is?" says Chelsea.
"Um, yes, I remember putting it down this way..."
"Oh, no you are mistaken it's probably down this way-"
"Uh, no... I'm sure it was this way." I'm annoyed, I have been here for a day, yes, but I know where my bag is.
"Don't worry most of the newbies that come here don't remember where they put their bag, so its normal-"
"Well, thank you for your time Chelsea but I KNOW I put it this way, okay?" I get out of her grip and quickly walk down the way I know it is. Why would she think I have no idea where my bag is? I head through a door and automatically a horrible scent fills my nose, what is that? I look to my left and freak; I'm in the boys changing room... how am I? I almost faint, I feel my face heating up I can't see the door, everything is blurry, I can't swallow or breathe, it feels like someone is choking me, or something is in my throat. I should have listened to Chelsea. I should of- I hand grabs my arm and I'm pulled out into the corridor.
"Are you okay?" Its Connor, my eyes clear up and I lean forward, my hands on my knees as I take a deep breath.
"Oh my goodness," I splutter, starting to breathe again, "I promise I didn't mean to go in there,"
"Don't worry, it's easy to get lost I this school... you probably should head the other way if you want to get to your bag," He stares at my books.
"Yeah, okay, thanks."
I finally put my books in my bag, my fast breath slowing down. What was I thinking, obviously the girl knew where she was going, I should of-
"Um, excuse me, I need to get into the room behind you." Says a quiet, small voice. I quickly get out of the way for a shoulder length, black haired girl. She gives a shy smile before heading into a room with a pile of books. The room reads 'Library'; I end up following the girl and inside lies row and rows of book shelves. I decide to just sit on the seat and close my eyes. I don't want to be here, my breath is still shaky.
"Um, are you okay?" says the girl from before.
"Oh yeah, I'm okay." She gives a wary smile before looking at some books.
Thank you so much for reading guys, don't worry, things are only just starting up for Ella's unluckiness!
Picture- Just one way you could imagine Conner :)
