Beep, beep!  The sound of The Girl's alarm clock sounded as it always did at 6:30 in the morning. For most other 13 year old girls the first day of the summer holidays would result in a lie-in and a fun-filled sleep-over or parties.  But for The Girl it was always the same time.  Her emotionless face turned on but didn't come to life.  It never did.  Her mouth never smiled or frowned, her eyes never lit up when she was happy.  And she never showed neither emotion or feeling.

She slipped her feet into her grey slippers that were resting beside her single bed in the same place as usual.  Her feet made no sound as she made her way down the stairs.  Reaching up, she picked the box of Corn Flakes off the shelf and poured them into the same bowl that she used every day.

Next she went up stairs, again, not making a sound and looked for something to wear.  There wasn't much choice in her wardrobe, except from the splash of colour on a raincoats hood, or some detailing on a few shirts most of her clothes consisted of black, white, or grey.

Picking out a white shirt, grey jeans and a grey jumper, The Girl picked up her hat.  She wore this hat everyday, summer, winter, or in the rain.  Her mother bought it for her years ago.  It was a grey woollen hat, with one pink strip and one green each side.  Slipping it on, The Girl gathered her hair in it so only a few straggly ends could be seen poking out from behind her ears.

She then made her way down the stairs again.  Sitting on the second-to-bottom step facing the door The Girl just sat there.  Not doing anything, not thinking about anything in particular.   Just sitting there.  Emotionless.

Heyy, I've never done a short story before but I wrote this a while ago and didn't want to make it into a full story, there will be about 5 chapters, maybe more I don't know.  Thanks for reading :)
