The Girl and her mum rushed into hospital, driving down the dark roads with their headlights blaring.  Once through the big glass doors The Girl's mum, Holly, ran up to the desk.  Followed by her daughter who was walking calmly, not showing concern or urgency that her mother showed quite clearly.

"Who are you here to see ma'am?"
"Charlotte, Charlotte Bridges."  Her mother answered in a hurried voice, out of breath, almost choking on her own words.  Her daughter stood next to her.  She didn't lean against the desk, she didn't look about.  She didn't flinch at the name of her friend from her mothers lips in such a serious situation.

"She's been moved out of he ward, to a quieter place.  To be with family."  The nurse was nice, she spoke with care, like she knew something bad but took the pain for you.  But there was only so long until you have to experience that pain for yourself.

Holly opened the door slowly, she could partially see through the frosted window in the door and took the same approach as the nurse as soon as she stepped foot through the door.   The Girl did not take this approach, she didn't take any.  She just simply followed her mum into the still room and assumed her place next to the hospital bed.

Eleanor didn't say anything to either of them and she didn't need too.  After a while a doctor came in, his distinctive stethoscope hanging loosely around his neck.
"Can I speak to you please Mrs Bridges?"  She wiped her eyes but left them red and puffy.  Looking of at Holly, she only needed to make eye contact to share her concern and emotion.

Holly just nodded, and stood up slowly with her, walking to the back of the room and stepping outside for support.
"Will you be OK?"  The Girl nodded, she moved closer to the bed and peered at her friend.  She had a mask on and the heart monitor was steadily beeping away.

Charlotte slowly lifted the mask of, straining at every movement.  Trying to put a smile back on her face.  It was too much effort and she kept her face still, the usual energy and enthusiasm gone.  The Girl didn't say anything.  They started talking, not like they usually did.  The Girl was now saying the most out of both of them, forced to be the main part of the conversation and she was struggling.  There was long pauses of silence where she didn't know what to say or simply didn't want to talk.

But it was too much for Charlotte, now her strain was breathing.  Replacing the mask the heart monitor started to pace, fast, faster, and faster still.  The doctor ran in, shortly followed by their parents.  The Girl was quickly pushed aside as the room was swarmed with doctors, nurses and specialists.  But then she was called back.

Charlotte looked even worse than she did a minute ago.  Her pasty white face was scrunching up but she had determination also.
"P-promise, m-me some-something"  The doctors tried to stop her but she refused.  The Girl nodded.
"Be-be yourself."
Beeeeeeeeep, the heart monitor went flat.

The room was filled with tears, and shock, Holly fell to the floor, grabbing onto the the lifeless bed for support and Eleanor's face was unrecognisable as her usual self.  The Girl just stood their.  Emotionless.

I know their is death and it's depressing but it really is needed in the story to prove the point and for it to all make sense so please don't moan at me.  Thanks for reading, only one more chapter now, love ya :):):):)
