I wish I could tell you that we, a group of 5, managed to outsmart the heavily armed guards and scientists when we figured out that they were lying about taking us to any other creatures that might be out there... unfortunately we did not. By the time Taurus figured it out, and he was the first to do so, they had successfully managed to separate us by having at least three guards between each of us.
I was in the middle of a conversation with Layla when I heard Taurus shout, making me stop mid-sentence and look up, before I was shoved into the nearest room. I barely had time to release a squeak before the door was slammed and the door was locked from the outside, leaving me slightly confused and literally in the dark. I could hear growling, yelling, and shuffling in the hallway as I threw myself against the barrier keeping me away from the others.
From the sounds coming from the hallway I could tell that I was the only one that they had managed to coral. Screaming in frustration I backed up and took a running start at the door and hit it with my shoulder. The wood gave way with a crack, the jamb splintering from its home while chips fly into the air. My sudden reappearance gave a shock to all in the hallway, but my scream of pain as my hand flew to my dislocated shoulder shook them back into action.
Instantly Layla and Zander were beside me with Taurus, Virgo, and Scorpio forming a three walled barrier around us. Glaring through my discomfort, I jerked away from Layla and hid my wince of pain at the sudden movement. "Okay, I'm done with this bullshit." I snapped, enjoying the slightly shocked expression on everyone's faces. I didn't curse, I'm pretty sure that nobody knew that I knew the words. "You are taking us to the others. If you try anything else, you will not like the results. Now, walk." I bit out, my voice dripping promise and cynicism to hide the pain that continued to radiate from my shoulder.
The guards looked at me skeptically, their eyes hard. They did not seem to take the threat posed by a 5'6", injured girl very seriously. Or they didn't until I, and the four other creatures let out deep growls.
The combined threat of five angry creatures, even if one was basically useless, was enough to make some of the guards pale, if not give in. However, we were still outnumbered and I imagined we would have lost the fight had the other creature not at that time gotten board of waiting for us to come to her. A dark blur came from nowhere, hurtling over the shocked guards to crash into the even more shocked Virgo.
There was a squeak from the dark haired beauty as she dropped to the ground and a dark growl from Taurus as he moved towards where Virgo was on the ground.
The person on top of Virgo gave a shocked noise before she started apologizing. "I am so sorry! I knew there was something interesting in front of the guards but I didn't know it was people and I didn't know I would land on you! Are you okay? I didn't hurt you did I?" The girl asked in a panic as she scrambled off of Virgo.
Virgo, for her part had started laughing. "Today is the best day." She gasped out as she laughed.
I was growing worried about brain damage, and seemed to not be the only one as Layla through her hands in the air. "Well I hope everybody is happy now! We have two injured subjects and we've had numerous emergency alerts, all of which were avoidable if we had just moved on with the next phase of the experiment when we were supposed to! Now, I am taking all of the subjects to an examination room. You can contact whomever you need to but we are damn well not separating these children again!" Layla snapped, her eyes more threatening than any creature's could ever be. So it was no surprise that when she motioned for us to follow her, the six of us did so without argument.
The six of us followed behind her in almost silence, a group of guards trailing after us. Zander moved so that he was beside me. "How are you doing?" He asked before glancing at my still out of place shoulder.
"Well, my shoulder is taking a vacation from its socket, we just set off like ten emergency alerts, and Layla might hate me. However, on the other hand, I finally have people who are my age to talk to!" I chirped.
