"10 bucks, I told you they were a couple behind closed doors!" Calum half yelled as Michael threw a pillow at him. They need to stop making bets on people. "We're not a couple Calum." Michael said groggily. I got up and put my hair in a ponytail. "Guys what's the time?" I asked but nobody spoke up. "It's 11pm, why? You got somewhere you gotta be?" Calum asked, I shook my head and swore under my breath. I was late, I was so freaking late.
"Yes, I have somewhere to be, now please get out of my way." I retorted and rushed out the door, grabbing my jacket, my bag and slamming the door. Running out into the freezing cold rain, makeup running down my face, feeling like the screaming painting Vincent van Gogh painted.
Checking my watch, the time read 11:17 pm, I was so late and I'm going to die. Running, my lungs are fueled with air and my heart is going to rip out of my chest. I didn't mind the rain, I love the rain. "Do you need a ride." a familiar voice called out as I stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and saw Blake Asher in the driver side door of a Jet Black 2016 Jeep Wrangler.
"Now tell me, why in the world would I want a ride from you?" I asked but added on. "No, scratch that. I'd rather let some guy decide my punishment by putting me in front of two doors; one with a vicious tiger waiting to rip me to shreds, or a beautiful marriage between me and some guy that I didn't even know." I said, ending the sentence with almost no breath. "The lady and the Tiger, that's cute. Get in the car." Blake Retorted, but I shook my head, I wasn't getting in a car. He nodded and started to drive off. That just wasted about 5 minutes of my time, running faster than I was, curse these flip flops.
Blake's car comes to a screeching stop and starts backing up, stopping in front of me. "Get in the car. Now!" He yelled at me, but I stood where I was at. No way was I getting in a car with Blake freaking Asher. "You need to go to work right? Get in." he said a little bit quieter. I hated to admit it but I needed this ride. I was fired if I didn't take it. Kicking myself in the face, I get in the car.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked but I stopped him from answering that question. "Never mind, I don't wanna know." I sighed and looked out the window. The ride took a lifetime times two, it was more silent than Death himself. I replayed the memory in my head, watching Blake's facial expression. How he drove off and came back.
"If you think I care about your well being, I don't." He retorted.
Just when I started thinking the impossible. "If you're going to be rude you can stop doing me favors. Like messing up my apartment." I scoffed and Blake laughed. "I was only there to apologize, then I saw that Blue haired freak in your bed. I didn't know that you were even seeing anybody. Everybody thought you were a lesbian to be honest." Blake laughed and I stared at him with disgust.
"That Blue haired freak has a name and it's Michael. He's just my friend and I'm totally straight. Thank you." I retorted and Blake stopped the car and looked at me. "You see, Michael has feelings for you, whether you see it or not. The kid does, and he's a damned fool because I bet in that pretty little heart of yours. You're just stringing him along for the ride. It's Ironic actually, always ignoring the ones who adore us, and adore those who ignore us." He chuckled and bit his lip, staring at me, like I was prey. I shook my head, that wasn't true.
"You're wrong, Michael and I are just friends, so please. I'm already late, take me to my work now." I said, and looked away, not letting him see the fresh batch of tears that were threatening to pour out of my eyes. Did Michael really have feelings for me? Or was Blake trying to get underneath my skin.
"Say it and fuck it up or don't say it, and fuck yourself up Dalia." Blake assured. I just stared out into oblivion and waited for that car to make a final stop, waiting for it to get to my Diner. "Get out." Blake divulged and unlocked the doors, I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out. Running through the Diner doors and running into Rickie.
