Undertale Fanfiction - An alternate Genocide Ending

Chapter 8 - Asriel

My body glowed as I absorbed Chara's soul. I felt a strange feeling in my body. The ground beneath me got further away from me. I looked down at myself; I had legs, arms, hands! I was, well, me again, Asriel Dreemurr.

"Asriel?!" Cried Toriel and Asgore.

"Mom, Dad!" The two of them hugged me..

"We missed you so much!" Mom confessed with tears in her eyes.

"I missed you too! But, I have to go now... For the well being of all monsters. If I don't fall down now, Chara will take over my body like they tried to before. But this time they could be successful." I had to face the truth.

"No! We can't lose you again! There must be some way to SAVE you!" Dad looked completely heartbroken.

"A-Asgore, I might h-have a way to extract Chara's soul from Asriel."

"Really? Please, do what you can, I can't lose my son again!"

"O-okay... Um, follow me. I'll take you to the lab."

"Thank you Alphys!" Mom was overjoyed. Mom, Dad, Undyne, Alphys and I went back to the Underground.

After we went through the barrier we saw the real Frisk sitting by the entrance with their knees against their chest. Frisk looked up at us with teary eyes. They stood up and said they were sorry for everything.

"Oh, my child! Do not worry, you had no control over what happened! Chara took over your body, it is their fault, not yours." Mom opened her arms, Frisk smiled and ran into her arms. "Now, we must save my son. Alphys, lead the way." Mom held both mine and Frisk's hand.

Dark, eerie, strangely silent, the Lab was daunting me. I could feel Chara's soul in my body, I had to resist them as best I could but I new that my time was running out.

Alphys stopped behind the extractor machine. "N-now, A-asriel, you h-have to step inside a-and I will extract b-both yours and C-chara's s-souls. I-I will then t-trap Chara's soul i-in th-this vessel and lock it up. Th-then, I will p-put the machine in r-reverse to put your soul b-back. I-is that c-clear?" She looked at me twiddling her thumbs.

"Crystal clear. Mom, Dad, I love you. And Frisk, Thank you for forgiving me in the other timeline." I gave everyone a hug including Undyne who said "We're all here for you kiddo, and we're all glad you're back."

As I stepped inside the extractor I felt Chara's soul devouring my own. I bent over in pain.

"NO! Alphys! Hurry up! Quickly, please!" Pleaded Dad.

"O-on it! D-don't w-worry. 3, 2, 1 -"Suddenly, the extracter lit up around me and I could feel my soul and Chara's being ripped away from my body. "N-now, bring me the v-vessel, quickly." Mom, handed the vessel over to Alphys who put Chara's red soul inside it. However, without my soul, I was slowly fading into dust. "Alphys, what's happening?" Cried my Mom.

"W-without his s-soul, his body is s-slowly dying. But don't w-worry, I just need t-to put the m-maching in reverse." She pulled a lever and the extracter lit up again. My soul entered my body once again.

"Son?" I heard Dad say softly.

"Dad, Mom, everyone! I'm me again!" Everyone in the room cheered! I was being held in Dad's arms. He let me go then Frisk immediately ran to hug me saying they were glad to have me back.

"And I glad to be back! Frisk, I know I was horrible to you as a flower, can we still be friends?" I looked at them hopefully. They nodded. "Thank you! Thank you so much! Heh heh, looks like I'm crying, huh? I always was a crybaby..."

Many days later, all the monsters were living above ground. Frisk had acted as our ambassador to the humans. They were surprisingly friendly to us all. It had been so many decades since the war, I guess everyone just forgot. Mom opened a school for the monster children. Jamie had become the Art's teacher for the school (he taught mainly Drama but he liked to teach Art and Music too). Frisk and I started the human school, well, I started there but Frisk was already part of the school.

Everything was going great! Mom and Dad were friends again (still not back together though) and the other monsters had manage to find houses and jobs. The story of monsters hiding underground was now over. But that doesn't mean a new one can't arise...
