Broccoli comes on my phone as my jet lifts into the air and powers upwards. Slight turbulence disturbs my leisurely music listening. It's only a 5 hour flight enough for me to go through my entire playlist I made for travel, I called it 'Planelist ✈️' which i think is pretty fucking clever. I'm in the middle of researching my target: his fighting style, drinking habits, clothing style, muscle mass, what he looks like without clothes ( you know just in case ), when the flight attendant (half of the entire cabin crew) welcomes me with a warm smile and slight nod. 'Odd' i noted inside my head a long with a billion other mental notes that mean nothing. They gave me my dinner I don't really know it was and it's not important. I'm about halfway through my planelist (and the flight) when i notice several figures moving around the back, way more than should be on this plane.

I take my right earphone and cock my head back, I glimpse a shoulder before it disappears into the lavatory. I stand up and go wait outside lavatory, I don't need to use it, just the person inside it.

The manual lock clicks as the door opens, a tall male with messy brown hair and deep brown eyes steps out. I don't have long to marvel as his beauty as he reaches for his gun (i was just standing there??) I punched him in the throats and kicked the gun out his hand, I tried to catch it but fumbled and it fell under the seat 'fuck that would of looked so cool' I reprimand myself and he cracks a small smirk. I punch him in face. I fucking hate smirking. He mumbles something inaudible and i realise id been holding him by the throats the whole time.
'oh right sorry' I say, loosening my grip 'but who the crap are you and why you on my plane?'
'Im you're partner.' I shoot him a dirty look and then quickly grab my phone sending a text to Mom.

so when were u planing on
telling me bout the new partner

sooner or later

wtf

Alright looks like you're legit I say. I look him up and down biting my lip. 'You as good as fighting as you are good looking?' I ask. He just shakes his head and walks down the aisle to the cockpit.
'He'll fall for me soon, they always do.' I say to myself.
'No, I won't' he calls out without looking back I curse under my breath and head back to my seat.

The final song ends just as the wheels connect with the tarmac, ha how funny the last song on my Planelist was called The Final Song. Life's funny like that. Lucas (I later found out that was my new partners name) stands up and holsters his gun in his belt whilst he takes a small suitcase out of the overhead storage, it makes me freak out because all i brought was a backpack.

We are ushered into a large black SUV without number plates or registration, and its wheels scream as they struggle to find grip on the smooth tarmac. Lucas and I are taken to the embassy, but not the normal one. Our escort slides a badge in front of the receptionist he just nods and presses a button built into the wall behind him, barely noticeable it's flush with the wall.

When we step into the elevator the other side is open too, revealing a wide staircase that goes deep into a new building, or the same one i'm not really sure. Lucas and I are greeted like royalty. Someone offered to take my jacket, but i'm not wearing a shirt underneath.

I assume we are taken to the boss, she has a big desk and spinning chair so one can only assume she's in charge around here.
'Verdi has been linked with multiple bank hits over the past week' her voice is gentle and rough at the same time 'We think he might have connections to the Marieda crime family. He runs a cartel on the south-eastern islands of the Bahamas, basically i want you to splatter his brains and bring me some in a jar'
Lucas and I both stare at each other wide-eyed, shocked by her sudden hostility.

'Why are you still here?!' she demands. Lucas ushers me out of the room in a panic.
