Rucas a love story

Riley's POV

I sit frozen at the window in my office. I just got the worst news in my life. My love, my soulmate, my husband, my reason to go up in the morning just got in a car accident and is rushed to the hospital. 

I snap out of it and grab my car keys and jacket and start running to my car. When I get to the hospital I run up to the desk to ask where Lucas Friar is and how his health is, they say he's in surgery and in a critical condition now that's all we known for now. So I sit in the waiting room and hope that a doctor or nurse will come out of the surgery room and tell me my husband is going to be okay. 

5 hours later 

I wake up by a nurse shaking me and a doctor standing beside her. 

The doctor: Are you family with Lucas Friar?

Riley: Yes I am. How is he? Is he going to be okay?

The doctor: He's going to be okay, but he's going to be in a self induced coma for a week so his body can restore from the difficult surgery he just had on his body.

Riley: Okay but what is his injuries?

The doctor: A broken leg, a broken arm, a broken nose, a broken foot, a punctured lung, a broken key bone, a dislocated hip, a dislocated shoulder, some head injuries, and some more less important things, like a sprained ankle and some bruises and cuts all over his body. 

Riley: Okay can I go and see him at least.

The doctor: Yes you can. This way.

So I follow the doctor to his room and he look so week and fragile on that hospital bed, with machines all around him then I hear the door close and we are all alone, me and Lucas. 

Riley: Hey Lucas it's me Riley. I love you so much and I hope you will be better soon when you wake up in a week." I say to him while I sit beside him on his bed holding his hand and stroking his hair.

One week later

Today is the day that the doctor will wake him up from the self induced coma. I'm so exited I can't wait to see those forest green eyes again that I love so much.  

Now it's time and I sit out in the waiting room because they want to take some tests first and check so that everything is okay before I go in. 

Lucas POV 

I wake up and see a lot of people around me and I start to panic, their something in my throat that makes it hard to breath on my own. 

The doctor: Lucas calm down you have been in a car accident and is in the hospital, if you can just relax and stay completely still I will take the breathing tube out so you can breath on your own."

I relax and stay still and feel it being pulled out of me and finally I can breath on my own with just a little bit help from a smaller breathing tube in just my nose. They take some tests on my body and mind and say I'm not aloud to speak yet so I stay quiet. They say the test are good and I can speak now. But before I can say anything the doctor started asking me questions like 

The doctor: Do you remember what happened?

Lucas: No, I was standing still at a red light waiting for it to turn green so I could continue driving and then it went black and I wake up here. But I assume I was in a car crash because you just told me that. 

The doctor: Yes you are right, a drunk driver who had lost control of his truck hit you in the back of your car and your car flipped several times around and you and went unconscious directly on the spot.

The doctor: How do you feel?

Lucas: I feel sore and a bit tired, but other than that I feel okay.

The doctor: Okay then I think we are done here. Try to don't move or talk so much, you can talk but not just so much while I bring in Riley she's been waiting for a long time to see you awake.

I smile very big when I here Riley's been waiting for me. 

Riley's POV

A nurse come out from Lucas room and she says I can go in, I smile very big and thank her.  

I see Lucas half lying down half sitting up (mostly lying down but not fully) and I get so happy he's awake, and everything is going to be okay.

Riley: I'm so happy you are okay, alive and awake. I love you so much Lucas I say as I sit on his bedside and stroking his cheek carefully. I was worried sick when I heard you got in a car accident. 

Lucas: I love you too so much Riley, and I'm sorry that I worried you so much, I was just going to surprise you with coming to your job and surprise you with taking you out on lunch. 

Three months later 

Riley POV

Lucas is out from the hospital now and we are going back to our apartment together and I carry on with my job life as a teacher and Lucas stays home some time to heal some more then he's going back to his job as a veterinarian and we carry on with our lives as nothing has ever happened except we say we love each other much more and more often and don't take anything for granted especially each other.
