I hear a knock on the front door, as I make my way to the door; the small delivery gets posted through the mail slot in the door before I reach it. I look at who the small, soft parcel is addressed for and see it for me - For me?
I never get anything like this through the post. I open up the package and pull out about five pairs of gloves. Gloves? I look at the gloves in more detail: look exactly like human hands. Full human hands! No holes! I pick the pair which looks most like my current size. I slip them over my hands, watching the holes in my hands disappear underneath the gloves. I smile happily as my hands look normal for the first time in my life.
I take the other pairs of gloves upstairs. Emptying the whole of the envelope, a small piece of paper falls out of it, I open it up to neat wingdings, not in the way my mum writes it. Even though this is neat, I feel as if it is a little bit scruffy, but I can still read it. I translate it as if it were a second language of mine.
Georgia,
with you growing up, I can tell that you would be struggling with people asking about your hands. So I made you these to look more normal. I'm sorry that they're so thick, but when you're stuck underground with limited resources apart from thick wool, it's the best I can do. Anyway, I hope that you're doing great and school is going alright. I hope that I'll see you in the future. After I finish Core expansions, I'll get to work on the barrier, they really need the core down here but I'm sure that the barrier won't take too long after all the research I've done about determination. Anyway, I hope we can meet sometime in the future.
Stay determined!
-GI smile at the small note I received from who I think is my dad. I know he's alive and well at least. I sit on my bed and look at my walls, with many pieces of wingdings for research; beating 'G' to the process. I continue to write about the barrier, my hands slipping down the pen a little bit, forcing me to increase my grip on it. I'll have to get used to this. I finish off the rest of the page I was writing about and read it for any mistakes.
Human Souls
Larger than a monster soul - usually stronger than a monster soul.
Get damaged after monster soul is destroyed, gets filled with determination by doing thing the human feels inspired by.Monster Souls
Smaller than a human soul - weaker than a human soul
gets damaged easily. Once determination is lost, it can never come back. However, some monsters can heal it.I add a note at the bottom for my future self who looks at this work.
This is what I think happens with the souls, these guesses could always be incorrect.
I draw two hearts, one bigger than the other, colouring in the larger one in sections of sevenths. Dark blue, light blue, orange, magenta, yellow, green and red; to symbolize all the colours of the human souls possible and discovered. I leave the smaller, monster soul white as I don't yet know what colours monster souls can be.
I sit back and admire the art of my research. I decide I should get something to drink. I teleport downstairs and open the cupboard to get a glass down. I turn the water on, running my finger underneath the water, forgetting I have gloves on, the water absorbs into the thick wool. I take them off to dry out. I drink the small glass of water and sit down on the sofa, a few steps away from me.
I hear the faint jingle of keys in the door, unlocking it to reveal my mum walking through the hall, I want her to try and see my gloves without me telling her.
I flung my left hand up, causing my mum to halt in the small hallway as I teleport to put my gloves on. I teleport back and bring the bones back down.
"Stop doing that Georgia! One day, they're going to hit me." She sighs. Walking into the living room, where I'm sat.
"Why've you got to do that?" She asks me.
"Because I want to make sure that your reaction stays as great as it is now!" I explain to her. She sighs once again.
"I do suppose it's useful when you're getting old!" She admits, nodding her head. She turns to face me.
"You aren't acting normal; actually, you are normally up in your room, working away. How come you're down here today?" She asks, looking at me.
"I was just having a brea-"
