Y/N POV
THE NEXT DAY
When I woke up, Soda was getting up and let me go. I honestly couldn't breath when he was holding me so I'm kinda glad he did. "Hey, Y/N, I gotta go to work! You can come with me if ya want, or you could stick around here and explore a bit." Soda stated looking down at me as I got up and walked toward my bag, "I take that as you're coming with me?" I nodded and headed toward the bathroom.
Time skip (cause I can!)
I walked out of the bathroom, my hair in a braid behind my head. I was wearing a dark red and blue plaid shirt, a dark blue jeans jacket, light blue boot cut jeans, and a pair of black tennis shoes. "Glory, you look nice" he complimented blushing a bit and looking away.
"Well we better get to DX then!" I shouted realizing that if we didn't head out soon, he'd be late for sure! We ran as fast as humanly possible in order for Soda's almost perfect work record to not be shattered. When we finally made it I remembered one small fact that made me reluctant to walk into the gas station: Steve worked here. I've never really liked steve, I don't know why, I just never did. Just then, he walked out, Steve.
"Hey Soda! Who's your cute friend?" Steve asked, a look in his eyes asking to get hooked up.
"This doll here is Y/N!" Soda yelled in response, "But... I got dibs." Soda whispered the last part, he whispered so quiet that I couldn't hear it. As Steve began pouting with his bottom lip poking out slightly, I understood what Soda had said to Steve. My face turned crimson in embarrassment and realization.
"Hey, Steve, could you do me a favor and get the boss?" Soda asked politely.
"Sure, Soda." Steve answered, running off around a corner and into DX.
"So, Y/N, what ya wanna do"
"I don't know, honestly. I wasn't really thinking about that 'till now..." I replied soon drifting off to another world, Soda seemed to notice as his eyes grew slightly concerned.
"You okay?" he asked obviously worried.
"Yeah, just thinking...." I said as my voice trailed off again, he soon brushed it off and practically dragged me into the gas station.
"Okay, you wait here for me and manage the register for a minute while I go see what's holding steve up." Soda demanded, then turned around to look for his friend. Soon enough a man came in wearing a black jacket and his hands in his pocket.
"Hello!" I yelled practically hearing the mental face palm of the man wandering the store. He soon walked up the the register and set down a Pepsi on the counter also asking for a pack of cigarettes. I took the prices of both and rang up his total on the 'old timey' cash register. "That'll be $1.24" I informed him. The man pulled his hands out of this pocket taking out a black object that I assumed to be his wallet. But, boy, was I wrong. He put the cold, black object to my head. The object, as I had just realized, was a gun, loaded and pointing at my head.
"Give me everything in that register or I will shoot!" He screamed at me, making me cringe.
Hesitant to obey I yelled, "SODA!" Sodapop, practically a blur, ran to my aid. He rushed at the man as I squeezed my eyes tight hearing a gunshot and the braking of glass from behind me. I felt a metal object slam itself against my head, and I soon gave into the calm blackness of sleep.
Some time later
"Hey, I think she's waking up!" someone I didn't know yelled to someone else.
Soda's POV
"Mr.Curtis?" A male doctor asked.
"Yes?"
"You may see her now... she's awake and asking for you." He informed. I practically hopped from my seat in the waiting room, when I walked into the hospital room, Y/N was smiling at me.
"Hey, Soda..." she greeted gingerly, acting like nothing was wrong. "You okay?" She asked, and I looked at her eyes.
"How's that for irony? You're the one in the hospital and you ask if I'm okay." I chuckled, walking over to her and enveloped her in a tight hug. I soon found myself sobbing into the crook of her neck, sobbing out of worry and relief.
Y/N POV
"S-soda, don't cry... I if you cry, I'll start crying, and then they won't let me see you again..." I choked back my sobs as he cried in my neck, wetting my hospital gown in tears. Soon, he let go and wiped his tears away and looked me in the eyes.
"Wait, how much longer are you gonna be here?" Soda asked in true concern and curiosity.
"I get to leave on Sunday, 'cause they gotta check me to make sure I'm alright." I answered strait and to the point, "But, they said if anything was wrong that they'd have to keep me 'till I'm better"
"Well you can tell them that Soda's gonna take care of ya, so they don't have to worry." Soda joked, while chuckling and hugging me again.
Soda's POV
"Mr. Curtis, you either have to go or stay the night in the hospital room." the male doctor from earlier came in and said.
"I think I'll stay here every night 'till Sunday please." I replied as the doctor pulled out a cot for me to sleep on and left the room.
"How are you gonna get to work then Soda?" Y/N asked with concern lacing her voice.
"Well, DX is closed down for a bit, so I have about a month off with pay!" I stated excitedly. This definitely cheered her up.
"So, you just couldn't leave me alone, could ya?" Y/N giggled jokingly.
"Nope." I chuckled simply, pulling her into yet ANOTHER tight bear hug.
Soon, I laid down on the cot that was set out for me, but not before moving it closer to Y/N's hospital bed and taking her hand. Her rhythmic breathing as she slept soon lulled me away as I allowed myself to give in to the much welcomed bliss of sleep.
