Italics is memory

"I think I like this look on you." I said from my spot in the doorway, a smile on my face.

Erik looked away from the child in his arms, his hair falling over his eye. "What look?"

I chuckled and walked over to him, pushing his hair back and leaning on his shoulder. "The dad look. You're a completely different person with her."

"This was meant to be the center of the universe before I was betrayed. Now...It will be." Apocalypse spoke, raising his hands in front of him. I watched as everything suddenly began destroying itself, sand flying everywhere down below.

My mouth was hung open, my eyes full of shock as I watched all of the destruction. I looked up at Erik, seeing him already looking at me with a hint of regret in his eyes.

"Why me?" I asked, resting my head in my hand as I laid on top of Erik.

"That's what you want to hear right after sex, isn't it." He laughed, pushing pieces of hair out of my face.

"Not that." I paused, laying my head on his chest. "You could have found some other girl, but you chose me. Why?"

"Because for the first time in a very long time... I found someone who didn't turn me away...And I fell in love." He explained, rubbing his hand down my back. "Why me? You probably could have chose Charles."

I scoffed, my head picking up so I could meet his eyes. "Oh, please." I paused, shaking my head in disapproval. "Look as charming as Charles is, he isn't you."

I watched a pyramid form right before us, debris forming more parts to it. "Holy shit..." I said, getting glances from the others. I bit my lip, watching Apocalypse approach the two of us after finishing his pyramid.

"A gift... from the past you left behind. And the future that lies ahead." He lifts his hands slightly, creating a helmet almost identical to the one Erik stole from Shaw and then used again in 1973, gives it over to Erik, who takes it hesitantly. "You will reach down, my son, deep into the Earth. Rip everything they've built from the ground. Wipe clean this world, and we will lead those that survive into a better one."

"And me?" Charles asked, his eyes narrowing as he sat up as much as he could. "Am I to play a role in this madness?"

En Sabah Nur turned, his lips turning up into a smirk. "You have the most important role of all."

A/N: I'm ending it here because I don't want to do a time skip, so I'll se you in the next chapter!
