"Dr. Vera Cruz? Yung mga babies po na pina obserbahan nyo sa NICU? Dr. Ventura noticed that one of them is breathing slowly. One hour observation na po 'yon."
Pagkatapos marinig iyon ni Dr. Deniel ay agad agad syang pumunta sa NICU. Ang baby boy puno ng mga aparato sa katawan nito. Ngunit hindi ito ang nakaagaw ng pansin ni Deniel. Ito ay ang isa pang sanggol na walang malay at hindi gumagalaw.
Pinanganak ang kambal na hindi humihinga. Ngunit sya mismo ang nag desisyon na obserbahan muna ang dalawa dahil sya mismo ay hindi nya matanggap ang nangyari sa dalawang inosenting bata. Ngunit isa lang ang nakaligtas.
Impit na hagulgul ang ang narinig nya nang lumabas sya sa NICU na kung saan ang dalawang sanggol. Naaawa syang tignan ang asawa nya. yes, it's his wife faults and he knows that she is blaming herself to the point na handa nitong gawin kahit na anong bagay para lang makabawi.
Niyakap nya ang asawa at hinalikan nsa noo. Ngunit dahil rito ay mas lumakas ang hikbi ng asawa. Dumating narin sina Fourth at ang Mama nila. Their reactions was the same as the reaction of his wife, Dosielle.
"Oh My god! I thought that both of them didn't survive?" Gulat na sabi ng ina ni Dosielle. Tumingin ito kay deniel.
"Ma, 'yan rin ang akala ko. But I have this hope that maybe both of them can survive. We all know that their condition is at critical stage. That is why I asked Dr. Ventura to observe them, and they found out that one of them is breathing slowly. Unfortunately, the baby girl didn't make it. Wait? Who is with Faith?"
Their mother almost broke down again in tears but she controlled it. She know that her tears won't help the twins and their mother's condition.
"The doctor put her into sleep. She won't respond. But Deniel? How can the baby boy survive if he is still a 5 months old?"
Deniel was about to answer the question when the doctor who was inside the NICU came out and called him to talk. He excused himself and told them that he will be right back immediately. After how many minutes he returned.
"Sorry for that. He just called me to tell about the baby's condition. Ma, about your question a while ago, let's talk about it in my office. It's unprofessional of me if I discussed it to here in the waiting area while standing."
They headed to the office Deniel. Wala ni isa sa kanila ang nagsalita. Pero nag lakas ng loob si Deniel magsalita, tutal sya namna ang may kailangan sabihin. Tila hindi nya kayang masabi ang mga nalalaman dahil may malaking bumabara sa lalamunan nya.
"About your question ma, the baby can survive even if it is still a 5 moth old, it is already a baby. The baby is a miracle but only 22 percent of the 22-week-old babies were given lifesaving treatment, compared to 72 percent of 23-week-old and 97 percent of 24-week-old babies. All of them was intently listening to what Deniel is talking about. Deniel sighed before he continues.
"The baby has Retinopathy of Prematurity, Cerebral palsy and Behavioral and psychological problems. I know, how can a baby will endure all of that? We won't let him suffer alone right? I mean we are his family and we will be there all through the way of his life."
They all agreed except to his father in-law intently looking at him. His father in-law said something that it made him scared. Although he doesn't want to tell it to them, but he needs to. His father in-law seems to know something. Or is it just he can read through persons actions and he can tell that they are lying or up to something?
"Spill it out Deniel. I know that you are not telling us all of the information we need to know. We don't know about those complications you said. But what did the Doctor told you?"
Deniel nodded before telling them the most hurtful and unbearable information he ever encountered. How unprofessional of him while talking to his clients while looking away with a misty eyes.
"His twin, the baby girl, because of heart and intestinal complications. Hindi ko alam kung paano ito nangyari ngunit ipinanganak ang sanggol nang wala ang kanyang anus, ang kanyang dila at hindi buo ang kanyang spinal chord. That is why she didn't had a chance to live. Kung nagtagal ang bata sa sinapupunan ni Faith, mamamatay ito ng kusa at maaaring mamatay rin si Faith at ang isa pang baby."
Narinig nya ang pagsinghap ng kanyang asawa at maging at mga magulang nito. His father in-law was furious when he heard the news.

Mabilis namang dinaluhan ni Deniel ang asawa ng umiyak ito at sinasabunutana ng buhok habang paulit ulit sinisisi ang sarili. He keep saying her some soothing words but Dosielle won't stop.
"Sana nag-isip muna ako ako! Tanag ina!Kasalan ko! AKo ang may kasalanan. I'm sorry"
Her father growled at her. Mabilis naman itong pinigilan ng asawa ngunit hindi ito nagpa-awat.
"You're sorry won't change anything! Sa tingin mo ba ang mabubuhay mo ang isang batang namatay dahil sayo? Sa tingin mo ba mawawala ang mga komplikasyon na meron ang pamangkin mo?! Maibabalik mo ba sa katinuan ang ina ng mga batang 'yon?! Hindi di ba? So stop that bullshit right know."
May sasabihin pa sana ito ngunit hindi natuloy dahil may humahangos na babaeng nurse na pumasok kasama ang dalawang security guard ng Hospital. Kasunod nun ay si Dr. Ventura na nagma-manage sa NICU.
"Sir, nawawala po ang pasyente sa Private Room 204. Si Faith Yvette Dela Mer’ced po ang pangalan."
Hindi po sila nakakapag salita ng sumabat naman si Dr. Ventura na parang balisa at nag-aalala.
"Mr. Dela Mer’ced, may kumuha rin ho sa sanggol."
The Mighty Zero Dela Mer’ced pulled out his gun and aim it towards the ceiling and fired it making all in the people in the room jumped in horror.
"What are you all waiting for? A fucking miracle?! Go and find them!"
