A/N: Hey everyone, I've officially moved this book to another account: thc_jasmine (see the difference) and if you're interested, please take the time to pop over to it. But if you want to read the original version-which is also unfinished-feel welcome! So, that's all, bye.
Alia Roger swung her schoolbag onto her shoulder.
"Bye mom!"she called.
"Bye sweetie, have a nice day!"Emilia called back to her daughter.
Alia ran down the path leading from the lawn gate to the porch. She couldn't be late on the first day of yet another school.
This was the eighth school she was going to since she was born. Her dad, Charlie, was a professional explorer, which meant that she had to move to suit his work. It also benefited her mom anyway, who was a photographer for a wildlife magazine.
The weather was perfect. The clouds were pure white and fluffy, and the sky was clear blue, not the kind that promised a storm later, which was what blue skies and white clouds usually did.
Alia arrived just in time for the warning bell and dashed to the office.
After taking her schedule and a map of the school(embarrassing) from the secretary, who also told her her homeroom number, she ran to class, catching her breath before knocking on the door.
Thankfully, her homeroom teacher, Mrs.Cora, didn't tell her to introduce herself in front of the class, only telling her to sit down in the only seat available under a window, beside a girl with pale blond hair and hazel brown eyes.
"Hey, I'm Sarilyn,"the girl said, smiling at her.
"I'm Alia,"Alia said,smiling back at her.
"Before you say it, I know my name's weird and I don't know why my parents gave it to me ."Sarilyn said.
"I wasn't going to say that, but I don't think your name's weird, it's nice, "Alia told her.
Sarilyn grinned. "Thanks."
Alia hoped she was one of those oh-you're-the-new-girl-and-I'm-going-to-be-your-best-friend kind of person.
The homeroom period ended and Alia went to look for her locker.
"Need any help? "Sarilyn asked, coming up from behind her.
"Yeah, I'm looking for my stupid locker,"Alia said.
Sarilyn grinned. "What's your number? "
"208,"Alia said.
Sarilyn's grin widened. "My locker's right next to yours!"
"Cool, can you show me to it?"
"Sure."
The two of them walked down the corridor with Sarilyn in the lead. Alia was so engrossed in staring at her surroundings that she didn't see a five foot eight boy with black, cropped curls and amber-brown eyes heading her way.
Alia gasped when she crashed into a wall and fell backwards. Only, it wasn't a wall, but a really really really solid boy.
"F*ck!"the boy yelled. "Do your eyes grow on the the back of your head? Or are you blind? "
Alia winced as pain shot up her ankle.
"For a matter of fact, I'm not blind, and my eyes are right here in case you're blind,"she snapped, trying to get up from the floor.
The boy obviously wasn't someone you messed with since no one was trying to help her and he looked pratically murderous.
"What did you just say? "the boy snarled.
"That you're blind, "Alia said matter of factly.
The boy's eyes narrowed into slits. He looked ready to explode. The two boys following behind him that were probably his friends looked worried.
"Ajax, just leave it, you'll get in trouble again, "the boy with auburn hair and grayish-green eyes standing beside Ajax said. The other boy who was standing on the other side of Ajax nodded in agreement.
"Hi, Ajax, nice to meet you, I have to go now, "Alia said, still trying to get up since her ankle was hurting like crazy.
Ajax's friends started to drag him away.
Ajax growled but didn't resist.
"You'll regret this, girl,"he hissed. Alia shrugged, having no idea how serious he was.
Sarilyn bent down to help her up.
"Ow! I think I twisted my ankle,"Alia gasped.
"I'll help you get to the nurse's office,"Sarilyn said.
"Thanks."
Sarilyn was quiet on the way to the nurse's office.
"Is something wrong? "Alia asked, "or, no offence, are you usually this quiet? "
"Let me tell you something about Ajax Hunter, "Sarilyn finally said. "He's the cruelest, most merciless bully known in town, and messing with him was not a good idea. "
"What exactly is the definition of cruel and merciless? "Alia asked.
" Kidnapping you and punching you in the guts in deserted alleys? "
"Are you serious? "
"Too bad, but yes. "
"You mean, you've actually experienced this before? "Alia asked in horror.
"Well, not me, but one of my classmates a year ago. She was sent to hospital and recovered half a year after the incident. She couldn't ever breathe normally again without medical help. "
Alia swore under her breath. "I'm in big trouble with the freaking bully, aren't I? "
Sarilyn sighed. "I hate to say it, but yeah."
Alia groaned.************************************ I have no idea how long a chapter should be, and I don't have any experience in writing romance, so please comment.
P. S. Alia is pronounced (uh-LIA) and Ajax is pronounced (EI-jax) just in case you get imaginative and invent your own pronunciations for their names :)
