Finally, the doctor said that Alia could leave the hospital on Tuesday.
On the second day at her new school, Alia made sure to avoid Ajax as much as possible, also asking Sarilyn to walk her home so she would at least have a witness if Ajax bullied her.
"God, what happened to your face? You've been avoiding this subject for the entire day! You don't think I'll just drop this, do you?"Sarilyn said. Alia was seriously regretting her decision for Sarilyn to walk her home.
She sighed. "Nothing happened, Sarilyn. I'm telling you for the nth time in your life."
"What?! You disappear for more than two weeks and come back with a scar on your face saying nothing happened? Do you seriously think I believe that? "
Alia looked sheepishly at her. "Maybe... "
Sarilyn gave her a look."You, Alia Roger, are not going to get away with this. "
"It's not as if you can force me to tell you, "Alia argued.
"Oh yeah? With all my bugging you'll give in in less than an hour! You don't believe it? I'll start now. "
"Stop! Okay, okay I'll tell you! "Alia said, exasperated.
Sarilyn gave her a wicked grin.
Alia took a deep breath.
"Well, you know how I accidentally crashed into Ajax and practically made him explode on Monday, right?"
Sarilyn nodded, her eyes widening in realization of what had probably happened.
"Well, I was walking around, you know, like, to get to know the neighborhood better when Ajax suddenly grabbed me and pushed me into an alley. I struggled, but he was like, way too strong, so I still ended up against a wall. "
Alia knew she was blabbering, but she wasn't in the position to care.
"And then, "she continued, "we had a conversation which did not go so well so he punched me and then he said I could go and I punched him back and ran back home and ended up in hospital. "
Alia tried to take a breath after her seriously fast blabber.
Sarilyn stared at her. "You know I didn't get any of that, right? "
"Why? "
"Seriously, girl, you talk fast. "
Alia fought down a blush that was threatening to creep onto her cheeks. "Um, I think I inherited it from my mom. "
Sarilyn shook her head. "Well, anyway, I caught a few words and they did not sound good. "
"Yeah, whatever. Now can we drop this? "
"What?! Absolutely not! You should tell someone, anyone, an adult about what happened! You can't ignore this! It's serious! "
Alia sighed. "Look, please don't be so, so- I don't know! Stop saying that! "
"Alia! This is bullying! "
"Shut up! Stop. It! "
Sarilyn groaned.
"You do not bring it up at school or anywhere else, hear me? "Alia growled.
"F-ine. Just don't come to me when this actually gets more serious than it already is."
"It won't. "
"Don't be so sure. "~~~
Ajax slammed his forehead onto the steering wheel in his car. He'd been in a bad mood since he went to visit his mom three days ago. He'd seen her again and practically humiliated himself in front of the entire hospital ward because mom still didn't remember him. For all he knew, she felt like a stranger to him, let alone his own mother.
If he were a twelve year old girl, he'd be crying his eyes out right then.
Growling in frustration, he started the car, slamming his foot onto the gas pedal.
All through the drive home, he kept getting honked by cars because he was driving pretty heatedly, resulting in lots of swerving and swearing. He even almost crashed straight into the car in front of him, causing the driver to give him the finger.
"Save it for your fights with your girlfriend! "Ajax yelled out of his car window, knowing the driver also had his window open.
The driver yelled back some very inappropriate things that weren't worth mentioning.
Ajax rolled his eyes and honked at him repeatedly, his anger rising.
The driver only started moving very slowly when the other cars behind Ajax's also joined in the honking.
Ajax went full speed after that and almost drove right past his house.
"Gran? "he called like he did everyday he got home.
"Hey, how are you feeling?"June came out from the kitchen to see her grandson dumping his schoolbag onto the stairs.
Luckily, she detected his mood, or she would have given him a great deal of lecturing for leaving his things on the stairs.
"Fine, I guess. "
"Don't lie to me, Ajax, I know you better than that. "
"It's nothing, really,"Ajax muttered, already knowing that he had lost the battle due to his grandma's stubbornness.
"Is it about your mom? "
Ajax sat down, staring at his hands, which were on the dining table. He wasn't used to opening up to people about his feelings. Not even to his friends. And not even to his Gran.
"Um, maybe. "
He was dying to go into his room and get some frustration and anger out of his system.
June seemed to sense that, she gave him a small smile. "I'll be making dinner in the kitchen. "
Ajax nodded and escaped before his grandma changed her mind.
As soon as Ajax locked the door to his room, he started kicking his bed and desk, which resulted in him recoiling in pain. He wasn't stupid, in fact, he was pretty smart, even minus the bragging part. He knew he'd ruin his feet, but he wasn't in the mood to care. When his feet started hurting way too much to ignore, he changed to hammering his fists everywhere he could, not caring that they were becoming more bloody by the second.
He was losing control of his emotions, but he couldn't do anything about it. Again, not that he cared.
Finally, June decided to check on him and found him battered and bruised and throwing a tantrum in his room.
"Ajax. Liam. Hunter! Stop it this moment! You're going to break a bone!"
It took Ajax at least five minutes to calm down. He sat with his back against the wall, his head in his hands.
"Go away,"he said roughly.
June shook her head. "Just make sure you don't smash your head while I'm down stairs. I don't want to come in here and see you headless and gory. "
Ajax snapped his head upwards.
"Okay, okay that was a bit harsh, but you seriously need to control yourself, or you'll end up like last time,"June said.
"Can people stop mentioning about last time!!! I don't want to think about it! "Ajax yelled in frustration.
June only sighed and left him alone in his room.
Just then, his phone rang. Groaning, Ajax reached up to grab it from his nightstand.
"What? "he snapped at the phone.
"Ajax? It's Luke, and I really really really want to apologize for I don't know how long ago when I made you mad. Just please stop ignoring me,"Luke's voice came from the other end of the line.
"Look, I'm not really in the mood to listen to you apologize right now, okay? Maybe we can talk tomorrow,"Ajax said wearily. His anger was wearing off, and he was starting to feel the pain seeping into his hands and feet.
"Ajax, what's wrong? "
"I-" Ajax stopped. "I don't know,"he finally mumbled.
"I am coming over right now and you cannot disagree because I am. No matter what. "
Ajax snorted. "Yeah, no matter what. That is the cheesiest thing I've ever heard. "
Luke growled."Shutupyoucan't
stopmefromcomingoverheresothere."
It was over so fast it took Ajax a whole minute to register the fact that Luke had hung up.
He went to the bathroom to clean himself up though his injuries hurt like crazy in water. When he was done, he came out just in time for the doorbell to ring.
"Hey, Luke,"Ajax said as June opened the front door.
"Hey,"Luke grinned at him at turned to June. "Hello Mrs. Hunter, sorry for the unexpected visit. "
June smiled at him. "You two go upstairs. Luke, you can stay for dinner."
"Thanks!" Luke called over his shoulder as Ajax dragged him upstairs.
"What. Are. You. Doing. Here," Ajax said flatly.
"I told you I'd come over! "Luke said.
Ajax let out a breath through his teeth. "Well, don't expect me to spill my guts to you."
"I'm not, but I have to make sure you're forgiving me."
Ajax rolled his eyes. "You're forgiven."
Luke fist bumped him before turning serious. "You can really tell me what's wrong, though. "
Ajax ran a hand through his hair. "Um, I don't really want to talk about it."
"Okay. But don't think I didn't notice you're bullying people again, especially that new girl."
"Wha- I'm not bullying her! "
"You know that you act differently when you start on a person, right? "
"I do? "
Luke rolled his eyes. "Yes you do."
"How?"
"Hell I'd tell you."
Ajax swore under his breath.
"Anyway, stop bullying people! No one likes to suffer, and no one deserves to let you take your anger out on them. "
"Stop lecturing me. "
"That's what normal people would do! Normal people don't go bullying around because they have problems at home! "
Ajax massaged his temples. "You're giving me a headache. And FYI I can't control my anger, I never know what I'm doing when I angry."
Luke groaned. "You're impossible."
Ajax smirked. "I know."************************************
