One Week: 5 Days.
Kendall was in the kitchen making breakfast. His homemade muffins baked in the oven and made the house smell good. His parents were going to visit him in a few hours, and he thought of giving them a good meal.
Just as always he picked up a good book and waited for the bread to bake. He tried to focus on the book but his mind was stuck in what happened that weekend. The movie night ended pretty good, Christina slept over, actually they both fell asleep in the couch. He could not erase her beautiful face as she woke up. Her hair all messy, and to his eyes, she was still beautiful.
The doorbell rang as he jumped up his seat, startled he stood up and made his way to the door. There, a dark haired pale faced man leaned against the door frame as he crossed his arms. "What are you doing here, Damon?" Kendall asked, he was surprised Damon even knew where he lived.
"I thought we had a deal." Damon's strong arms pushed Kendall to the side as he stepped inside the house. He looked down at Kendall, Damon was a head taller than him. Kendall gulped as he compared his size to Damon's.
"I don't know what you mean." Kendall actually knew exactly what he meant. But Christina had kept that night a secret from him. How could he possibly found that out?
"You know, exactly what I mean." Damon shoved Kendall with as much force as he could, knocking the poor boy down on the floor. "I come back from a week-end trip to my parent's house, and find this out?" Damon crouched down on the floor as he heard Kendall speak.
"W-We didn't do anything! You know I wouldn't-"
"Lies!" Damon bellowed as he shoved a fist in Kendall's stomach. Damon knew Kendall loved his soon-to-be-wife, Damon was completely obsessed with her and extremely overprotective. He was jealous of Kendall. But Kendall wouldn't understand why, he never understood that. Damon had everything. He had the perfect life, perfect car, perfect job, and a perfect girl. What more could he possibly want? "She told me she payed you a visit, and that she stayed over." Damon grabbed Kendall by his shirt collar as he pulled him up to stand.
Kendall knew he was lying, Christina wouldn't have told him anything. But he didn't know Damon was out of town. "No!" Kendall cried as he saw him make a fist. Damon hit Kendall in the jaw, making his head flinch back as he hit the wall. Damon punched him repeatedly as he pleased. Eventually he got bored and tired, and stopped.
"I don't want to see you near her. And by that, don't even think about showing up to the wedding. Or this, will be just a little taste of what's to come." He walked out of the living room and slammed the door shut. Kendall was left on the ground with a nose bleed and various bruises forming around the face. He felt blood trickle down his forehead along with a headache at the back of his head.
He managed to get himself up as he crouched his way to the phone. "Mom, hey, so is it okay if you guys can visit some other time?" He couldn't let his parents see him like this. "Yeah everything is fine. No, it's not that. I'm just really sleepy and I feel like i'm getting sick." He grabbed a tissue and pressed it against his forehead. "No, no. I don't need you to come take care of me. I'm fine, really. Alright see you soon. Love you." He hung up.
Grabbing a bag of frozen peas he pressed it against his face as he leaned against the counter. The oven beeped, startling him again. He sighed and ignored it. He couldn't believe Damon had come all the way to his house to beat him up.
While debating whether or not to go to the hospital, the doorbell ringed again. Hesitating to open the door, thinking it was Damon again, he heard a female voice talking on the phone. His heart sped up and his cheeks flushed. The doorbell rang again, he couldn't let Christina see his face right now. He turned off the kitchen lights and hid behind the kitchen island which could be seen from the front door window.
He heard the most precious laugh in the world. "Kendall, I know you're hiding in the kitchen. Open the door!"
"I can't open the door!" He quickly sprinted to the entrance. Holding on to the doorknob.
"Because.."
"Because I am getting sick and I don't want you to get the really bad virus I have!" He begged.
Christina sighed. "Kendall! It's really important."
Remembering he had a halloween mask in the hallway closet from the last time he played with his niece and nephew he reached in and put it on. Opening the door Christina peeked behind the door and saw him. Shutting the door behind her she hugged him, he winced at the touch, still delicate from the beating.
"Alright, now what is so important?" He rubbed his hands together.
"Nice spiderman mask." She smiled as she pulled it off of him. Kendall had caught the mask mid way before competely having it taken off. But after a few moments of struggling, Christina yanked it away. "Alright so I know it was last minute but I was debating on- What happened to you?!"
Kendall shut his eyes as Christina looked in horror at his face. She pushed him to the kitchen, and made him sit on the kitchen island. "It's nothing really." He spoke, she picked up the bag of frozen peas left on the counter, placing it on his face.
"Who did this to you?" Just on cue a thin line of blood began at the top of his forehead, she ran to the hallway closet as she pulled out the first aid kit.
"I fell down the stairs that's all." Kendall hated to lie to her, but he couldn't just tell her the man of her dreams came to beat him up and uninvite him from the wedding.
"It looks like someone gave you a beating." She gently pushed his face to the side taking a good look of his right side. He winced.
"No, just some stupid stuff. But you were saying." He tried to ignore the stomach pain he had.
"I forgot." She sighed. "It wasn't even important." She studied his face. "You're still in pain aren't you?"
Kendall nodded, as Christina helped him out the door and took him to the hospital.
