Christina woke up at the sound of her alarm. As her eyes fixed around the room, she noticed something missing.

"Kendall?"  There was no answer. As she turned on the lamp on the side of her bed she noticed a note on the table.

"Good morning beautiful. Had to go get dressed up.

The bride's best man has to look sexy. I'll come  back soon. Relax,

everything will go fine. Love you tons. "

She briefly smiled. She looked over at the window and saw the sun rising. Today was the day. She sighed as she headed towards her her closet, where her white dress awaited.

"Kendall!" Kathy called from downstairs, she had been busy all morning trying to fix her last minute present for Damon and Christina.

"Hold on mom! I'm getting ready!" Kendall tugged on his bow tie, frowning at the reflection in the mirror. Something was missing. Just as he was trying to figure it out, a picture fell out of the frame of the mirror. His reflexes were fast and he caught the photograph before it hit the floor.

It was one of many photos of him and Christina placed on the frame of the mirror.

"You have to be there early for Christina!" Kathy slowly opened his bedroom door. She gasped as she saw her son turn around. "Well, look at you handsome man."

"Thanks mom." He hugged her and kissed her cheek.

"Here are the flowers you ordered." She handed them to him. She just loved the pattern of red and white roses.

"Thank you." He took the roses and placed them in his desk. Nervously going back to the mirror.

"No problem." Kathy crossed her arms and leaned against the door with a grin on her face. "So..." She said as Kendall combed his hair. "Who are the flowers for?"

"I didn't invite any girl to be my date, mom." He sighed. Kathy was worried that he hadn't dated anyone in years. She wanted him to be in love.  She faked a frown. "They're for Christina. Hopefully she can calm down with those."

Kathy's face expression changed. "Calm down?" She wondered, instantly forgetting about the roses. She loved Christina, they years she had lived in their house, it was like she was really her daughter. She knew about her son's feelings toward her, always hoped that Christina could be more than a friend to Kendall.

"She gets really nervous when she knows she'll be the center of attention."  He cleared his throat.

"Oh." She instantly remembered the days when her son would give her those sparkly eyes whenever she walked in the room. As they got older, and after Christina moved out, he seemed less interested in talking about Christina. She couldn't tell if he was really moving on, or if he was lying to her. Could her son still have feelings for the bride?

"I want this to be the best day of her life." Kendall's voice brought his mother back to reality.

"Isn't that sweet!", She hugged him. "When will be the day you get married?" He shook his head.

"My chances are gone..", he mumbled  as his eyes watered.  "I gotta go. I'm going to be late." He kissed her cheek, grabbed the flowers and shut the door behind him..

"You're gonna look so pretty!" Courtney, Christina's best friend, jumped with excitement.
