George Washington High School Gymnasium, October 31st, 2013, 3:30 PM
The Heroes Legion were at the school, in the gym, setting up Halloween decorations for the school dance along with the rest of their third period classmates.
Velocity/ Trevor Tanner and Silicon/ Jason McLane were on ladders putting up the Halloween lights and banners.
Andrew Griffin/ Robo-Warrior was bringing in tables along with the other human students of the class he and his teammates were a part off.
Raven was busy carrying a box of plastic pumpkin head looking things that were going to be put on the lights that Trevor and Jason were putting up.
As she walked over to where she had left off, when she had run out of pumpkin heads to hang on the already hung lights and had to get another box, her eyes caught sight of the paper witch on the wall adjacent to where she was standing.
It was a hag with green skin dressed in black with warts, a typical recreation of the wicked witch of the west from "The Wizard of Oz", the archetype of the Witch image.
Raven scoffed at the thought of that being the Definitive image for all witches, old, ugly, wart ridden.
From her personal experience, witches didn't look like that....she should know, she was one.
Although Raven did wonder what her face would look like with green paint on it...and how she would look in a black pointy hat with a broom in her hand.
Despite this being her first All Hallows Eve here in the Earth realm, the custom these non-magic users had for celebrating this night, by dressing up in costume.
Not like when she and her companions went out to do Heroes Legion business, these "trick or Treaters" dressed in more outlandish getups than she and her friends wore, and instead went out collecting sweets and having fun telling scary stories or giving each other scares.
The whole thing sounded just as fun as Will-o-the wisp hunting in the Twilight woods, and telling demon and ghost stories as the Pyre fire burned.
The Magic Realm did not know what they were missing in her opinion, magic combined with costumes would be an interesting sight to see on a magic realm night of All Hallows Eve.
Maybe she should go as "Elphaba" from "Wicked", yeah, that would be most appropriate.
She chuckled at the thought.
She wasn't watching where she was going, and the next thing Raven knew it she had bumped into someone, some girl, and had also in the process dropped the box containing the plastic jack-o-Lanterns, they scattered everywhere along the gym floor around Raven's Feet.
The girl she had bumped into happened to be the same girl that Raven had met during the first month of the school year, Gia Lance, a first Year like Raven, about the same age...but had ascended the ladder of the ranks of the social and Alpha-Jerk crowd of the school.
The Destroyers were worse, but at least THEY didn't have to deal with the "Mean Girls" clique that Gia was a part off.
"Watch were you're going!" Gia snapped.
"I'm sorry, I..." Raven tried to apologize, but Gia wouldn't have any off it.
"That's twice now you little creep" Gia warned, "Here's some free advice. Stay out of my way or you'll regret it".
