A Baby On The Way

With a baby on the way, all became frantic within the vicinity of the newlyweds home. Soon, the media began to settle down, and I grew calm in the midst of the storms that had passed. Zak was growing gently, bulging some days more than others. Our excitement bubbled as we awaited the arrival of our baby.

Because of the circumstances surrounding the situation, Zak couldn't get an ultrasound, but in our hearts, we knew that a demon had impregnated Zak and that we would truly be close to the other side soon. Once our baby was born, we could find the source of his conception, and we can thank the demon who gave our little gift to us.

Some days felt long, others short, but ultimately, the baby was keeping Zak and I busy. His body never slowed down, and he often had long fevers leaving him either in a cold bath, on an ice cream frenzy, or perhaps a day spent in our newly installed pool.

There were also many arguments about the name. I had first suggested Giovanni, then Zak said it was too boring and suggested Arthur which I said was just as bland if not more. Zak then insisted we name the baby Demon Specimen 4000...that was on one of those days where he didn't want the baby anymore and insisted we would be carrying out experiments on it...I quickly changed his mind.

I suggested Theo, Zak suggested Randy, I suggested Storm, and Zak suggested Truman. Finally, just finally, we had decided on what our baby's name would be:

Jasper.

It was as clear as day when the name came up. Jasper would be the name of our newborn demon, and we would be parents soon and all would be well. Or so we thought....

The day was finally here...labor had began and we weren't sure what was going to happen. Entrusting in our friends and forgiving the past arguments, Billy and Jay plus Nick all came to support us. Zak had been in labor for four hours before he finally felt the baby was ready to come out.

Suddenly, Zak began convulsing and his voice was as deep as the ocean and as scratchy as a stack of hay. Zak floated to the air and spun around several times before being dropped suddenly onto the bed. This happened three times and then finally the first peek of the baby came out. Our demon child had black hair, tan skin, and finally the eyes...he had Zak's eyes! The baby's arm flew from Zak's stomach causing a large open wound. I trusted the demons would fix my boo bear up. I went to Jasper and carefully began to remove my demon son. I didn't care about the blood or fluid, just Jasper in that moment. He was magnificent!

Soon after Jasper was born, Zak fell asleep all sewn up from the birth. I rocked Jasper as Nick and Jay hovered over me like the happy uncles they were. I noticed Billy sitting by Zak rubbing his hand to comfort him. Jasper's eyes were wide open and I noticed a few veins jutting out. I stroked them and cooed at my son completely entranced by the miracle I held. He was perfect!

Jasper finally fell asleep during the wee hours of the morning. Zak was just waking up and insisted he wanted to see his son, but I told him that he was sleeping and Zak agreed to wait. My poor sugar boo plum baby was so exhausted and his eyes were drooping like none other. He was so tired and I wanted nothing more than to curl up next to him and stroke his throbbing muscles. I knew, however, he needed to recover and Jasper was my responsibility.

I only hoped that Jasper wouldn't change us...that hopefully we would still be as romantic, as keen on our relationship as ever, that our baby would be as perfect as he was now and would only make our lives greater. God, I wished.. but I was a fool.

Merely weeks later, Jasper began to show signs of his true demon self. He wouldn't eat Zak's milk, nor would he take a pacifier or anything else...he needed the one true thing a demon needed...a real human to manifest in... and there was three options...Billy, Jay...or Nick.
